Hey everyone, I am sorry that I have been absent from my social media pages for a bit. I have had a few weeks off from fishing and have been pursuing other projects for a minute. At this time it looks like I will start fishing again in mid June to early July. In the meantime I have been working on some updates to the big boat. She is getting a facelift as we speak and my start date will completely depend on her return. The time line as of now is early to mid June. Currently I... am booking Klamath estuary, Klamath Steelhead and Klamath fall Chinook trips. These trips will start July 1st and finish mid October. Estuary trips July/early August. Steelhead/Late July and August. Fall Chinook/ Mid August through mid October. The timing of each fishery is completely up to Mother Nature and can make opportunities for combination type trips. I hope to be able to use my discretion to give you your best opportunities. I am also booking Winter Steelhead trips and gathering a waiting list for fall Smith River Chinook. As most of you know, we have not had reliable enough water conditions for several years to pre book Smith River Kings. This was Goldies final launch!! The new boat will be ready this coming week and Goldie will be off to be enjoyed by Josh Smith and his clients! Definitely bitter sweet! Lots of great memories made with this old girl!!

Well, fish camp Smith River is a wrap. I will still fish a few trips as needed, but for the most part my Steelhead season is over. Overall our season, by comparison has been a good one and I couldn’t be more thankful for all of my clients, sponsors and blessings in my life. This winter I put the fifth wheel at Redwood meadows RV park in Hiouchi. I would like to give a special thank you to the management and staff for their constant efforts to make us comfortable. If you are ...in the area and need an RV space, this is the place. They also have Kitchenettes, yurts and wall tents that they rent. It’s a great facility with wonderful service. The remainder of 21 will show a different look as I will be saying goodbye to Goldie and be welcoming a new drift boat. I will also be putting a new wrap on the jet boat. Goldie made a lot of great memories, including a potential state record Steelhead. She will be missed. We are looking forward to this year’s Halibut and Klamath seasons and hope that Covid will take a hike!! With the river at its highest point in quite some time I am hopeful that this flush will bring a batch of new fish. The fishing has been up and down over the last couple of weeks. This all started with a dream in 1993. It has been the best career a person could ever have. I have friends all over the world. I have taken countless people on their first fishing trip and several for their last. I can’t put into words how thankful I am for all of you that have supported this dream over the years. Hey everyone, I am currently booking winter steelhead trips and praying for rain so that we may get out and fish for fall kings on the Smith, as of now it does not look promising. This is truly what it’s all about!! I spent the last couple of days with Crew(pictured here) his father Joe and Adam. The fishing wasn’t great, but decent enough to keep everyone interested. Crew caught several, but my favorite part of the trip was watching him throw rocks, chase frogs, looking for bear tracks, ya know, all the fun stuff!! Thank you guys for letting me be a part of it.
