This week has been our most challenging since we have arrived here. After waiting for the additional work to be done on the truck and then waiting a further 20 days to have our truck plans reviewed, the Health Department here in Orange County are STILL not accepting our truck to pass inspection (don’t worry it’s nothing to do with a hygiene Issue, it’s purely a minor structural issue) We now find ourselves without a permitting and facing potential further delays and cost due to this. . We are beyond frustrated and disappointed in the situation we have found ourselves in. We wanted to be serving all of you guys amazing coffee weeks ago, if not months ago. The journey to get here has been a long and winding road (with many potholes!) but we have finally made it.... . Over the last two weeks since finally emigrating to America we have not stopped. It doesn’t matter how many weeks, months and years you try and plan everything, you simply can’t plan for everything!!!! . Setting up our personal lives has been a mammoth task on its own despite the fact we are currently using an ironing board as a desk in our apartment we now turn our focus and attention to Miffies. . We planned to open up last Friday, however, this date was set by two very ambitious Brits. It doesn’t matter how much determination you have, when you have to wait 10 days to get an SSN, do a mountain of paperwork and finish off the final 10% of your truck fit you need more than 10 working days to do this!! . Sorry for not keeping you all updated much but as you can see we’ve been burning the midnight oil here at Miffies HQ. Stay tuned to our updates over the next week as we are hoping to be hitting the road early - mid-November . We promise it will be worth the wait .
