Beautiful and functional is my theme for the week. Railing is up, safety around the tasting pavilion #safetyfirst #beautifulandsafe #sandiegowine #sandiegowineries #highlandvalleywinecountry #highlandvalleywineries #miamarievineyards
An after dinner walk, a glass of wine in hand, and our children running in the sunset. Life running a family business is good #sunsetwalk #wineandsunset #sandiegowine #sandiegowineries #highlandvalleywinecountry #highlandvalleywineries #miamarievineyards
So I’m in to sharing the little things this week...this is our wall right outside our winery. Beautiful plants, an organized To Do list, and a trash can hidden inside a barrel (anyone else hate ugly trash cans). Functional and pretty #itsinthedetails #womeninwine #womeninwinebusiness #womenwinemakers #sandiegowine #sandiegowineries #highlandvalleywinecountry #highlandvalleywineries #miamarievineyards

These chairs scream for your tushie to take a seat, a glass of Mia Marie wine in hand, and take in the view. Any takers??? See ya this summer!!! #itsinthedetails #wineandaview #springinsandiego #sandiegowine #sandiegowineries #highlandvalleywinecountry #highlandvalleywineries #miamarievineyards
There’s a real beauty to seeing all the hard work and efforts of a team come together on bottling day. Like the whole vine to glass experience of planting and growing grapes, harvesting, and crafting vintages in the cellar, bottling day showcases many moving parts coming together all at once. All that’s left to say, CHEERS!!! #miamarievineyards
Bottling day...dun, dunn, dunnnnnn! The labels were hot off the press this morning just in the nick of time. Bottling is a huge coordination of moving parts: wine must be filtered and ready to go, glass, labels, capsules, and corks need to all be ready because bottles are filled, labels affixed, wine corked and capsuled, and the finished product finally boxed. More pictures/videos coming soon! #miamarievineyards
Twilight...there’s something special about this hour. Tonight the wind was still, the animals were quiet, and you could feel the land breathe. Come join us soon...#miamarievineyards
Golden hour views from the tasting pavilion #miamarievineyards
Disgorgement of our rosé pét-nat. This delicious, bubbly delight made from 100% Tempranillo grapes fermented naturally (wild yeast). Looking forward to this beauty’s public debut soon #miamarievineyards
Pre-pruning sunset winter walk in the vineyard. The vines and their respective shapes speak a story about their year.
What is pét-nat? Pét-nat is a style of sparkling wine production. Unlike Champagne, which requires sugar and yeast to stimulate a second fermentation and produce bubbles, pét-nat works by bottling wine that is only partially fermented. As the sole fermentation continues in bottle, the carbon dioxide (CO2) cannot escape. The CO2 soaks into the wine as bubbles. The videos here show our disgorgement process for our Grenache Blanc pét-nat. #miamarievineyards
All that’s missing is the wine #miamarievineyards
Big week here at Mia Marie. We did blending trials on our Syrah, had over 10,000 lbs of glass delivered, filtered the rosé and Sauvignon Blanc, and our winery was featured in the @staytipsypod podcast (check it out!) Happy Friday indeed!!! #miamarievineyards
Our office for receiving guests = almost finished! Comes complete with a table for seated tastings (with a view), a tasting porch, and comfortable meeting desk. Still working on the finishing touches in this space but it’s close! #miamarievineyards
When we test out yet to be bottled wines, John brings them over the two hundred feet from our winery to the house in convenient containers. This 2019 Syrah has a beautiful, deep color and rich tanins. Still needs more time in the barrel and it’s fun to taste test along the way! # MiaMarieVineyards
Strolling our property and enjoying a glass of the yet to be bottled 2020 Rosé. The nose on this one, yum #MiaMarieVineyards

End of harvest toast with our 2020 Sparkling Rosé Pét-Nat We have an amazing crew! #MiaMarieVineyards
Everyday, we go up to the future tasting deck and check the lizard pipe (among other things for those of us who work). Our kids often find a granite spiny lizard in the pipe, but not always. It’s a family affair, starting a winery business! #MiaMarieVineyards
All we need is the wine #MiaMarieVineyards
As a family run business, some nights one of us has class (or winery dishes!) and the other eats alone; the kids ate an hour ago. Which is fine. We are building something and feel lucky to live in such a beautiful space. We can’t wait to share it with you. Cheers!!! #MiaMarieVineyards
Round 2 of Pét-Nat bottling with our Grenache Blanc. Can’t wait for this to turn into a sparkling bottle of deliciousness! #MiaMarieVineyards
