It is important to note each district is responsible for creating its own reopening plan. (en español abajo) Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education and Superintendent Diann Kitamura have released a letter to the community, assuring solidarity wit...h our Black community and #BlackLivesMatter. The letter calls on Santa Rosa’s Mayor and City Council to adopt policies for police reform and community input. It also pledges the school board’s continued work to remove barriers for students, and to prioritize equity and access. As of June 2020, the board is in the process of approving and implementing an Ethnic Studies curriculum.
