Sorry for the short notice, but Chris Dougherty from the City will be at the HOA meeting to answer parking questions tomorrow night at 6 PM. 312 Metro Lane.

Apparently there was a miscommunication between WS front counter staff and the person at the counter. They are currently reviewing the impacts of the new restaurants on the surrounding community and also actively working with the owners of the restaurants to ensure that there is parking for both the patrons and the employees. So far they have redirected employee parking to a stretch of 2nd street under the I Street bridge ramp and will monitor how that is working. As for t...he update for the permit parking around Metro Place, they are currently researching other methods to employ that will have a similar effect without the need for a permit program. For example, timed parking would solve the problem of local employees using the neighborhoods for daily parking. As for any resident who has happened to purchase permits in advance of permit parking, they are happy to reimburse them for the permits. Chris will also attend the next HOA meeting to discuss ways to address any parking issue that Metro Place is having.

Concerning the B Permit signs going up, this is straight from the horse's mouth: "I would most likely have the restrictions go until 10 pm for both weekdays and weekends. I would assume that these are the first of many restaurants coming to this area."

Last hurdle before the B Street Permit signs can go up. We need a majority of the community to sign a B Street Permitting Acknowledgement. I will have these on my front porch for the next couple of days, so please stop by and sign it (every driver can sign, not just the homeowner). Rally your neighbors also, so we can have these up before the 2 restaurants open!
