The 26th annual Mardi Gras fundraiser was held on Saturday, May 15 benefitting Methodist Hospital services. Methodist Hospital hosted special ceremony May 13 to dedicate a COVID-19 Tree of Honor in recognition of the hospital’s courageous staff who selflessly cared for more than 2,300 COVID-19 patients during the pandemic and conducted as well as honor the memory of all who lost their lives to the COVID-19 virus. Ceremony participants included, from left, COVID-19 survivor and former City of Walnut Mayor Joaquin Lim, Infectious Disease Specialist Hua Jiang, MD, Paul P. Cheng, Mayor Pro Tem at City of Arcadia, COVID-19 survivors Ulises Gutierrez and Angelica Arteaga, and Methodist Hospital Director of Marketing Brian Greene. The implementation of nursing care may be delegated by the RN responsible for the patient to other licensed nursing staff, or may be assigned to unlicensed staff, subject to any limitations to their licensure, certification, level of competency, and/or regulation.
