Gillespie posted this and the "experts" were totally stumped. I've seen one before and still have no idea what the hell it is. Not googleable and not listed in any reference. Some kind of sensor device.

Does anyone out there have the crimping tool and parts to make a custom eurorack power cable for us? This is for a "special customer" who doesn't like existing Euro power setups. See drawing below, should be self-explanatory. No one makes anything similar at present. And people wonder why I'm so pissed off all the time....."I don't like that, I want something special".....

David Levy continues to work on the soundtracks for Doom Eternal. Prominently featured are two iCunts and two R-53s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDC7ywaqvsA https://youtu.be/gi7hE5W4fxM... https://www.instagram.com/p/COg-GyoBSbr/

and now I'm asking a list of TCA members to sell us 14BL11 tubes. Our favorite dealer is sold out. Hoarders are starting to do the "crazy dance" over that obscure and otherwise-worthless tv compactron. Ten years ago it was worthless giveaway junk, now it's $5-10, soon it will be $50. Then $500. Then impossible to find at any price. BTW: the price of toggle switches has doubled in the past 6 months...

Because the begging for a KV100 has reached a "certain level" I've posted a thread to deal with the endless questions. THIS IS NOT BURGER KING AND YOU CAN'T HAVE IT YOUR WAY. Sorry nerds. https://modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=248853

A little something for those who still think making this crap is "easy". We are being forced to change the knobs on RK modules (AGAIN), this time because the dealer in Taiwan is quoting us delivery in November "and this cannot be guaranteed". "Luckily" (?) I found a similar knob on that legendary madhouse Ali Express. They cost 12 cents apiece--plus about 24 cents for shipping. Apiece. Considerably more than I was paying the other company. Take it or leave it.

"Hope not too far off general topics but packing more stuff and got a number of items from Harry Mills, K4HU, when he passed. He was with the RCA service div early on. One more item that you early RCA persons may have seen. They were in the tin box." Note: RCA did not actually make these components. They are the typical crap used in 1930s radios. I would not be surprised if the paper capacitors have already gone bad--despite never actually being used.

This is a TO-3 transistor mounted in a steel can full of glycol. No one has any idea why it was made, and this is the only sample anyone's ever seen. (It still had to be bolted to a heatsink, so the point of it is "mysterious". So is the intended application. Google is useless again.)

"In Brazil, Standard Electric S.A., a local branch of ITT, made the power triode type 8357E to compete with the similar RCA 833a. This is part of the history in my book: The thermionic age in Brazil, a historical overview on valves and kinescopes.....Carlos Fazano"

"Early point of sale counter top tube checkers, similar to the Jewel Model 209 and 675. Also labelled Day Rad, Flewelling and Radio Products. Great for quick testing early tubes." This is a VERY early tester, circa 1928. Before this, testing tubes usually required a crude gizmo with a plate current meter that plugged into a radio's tube socket.

Daven was most famous for their massive super-reliable rotary switches. Forgotten: they also made tubes in the 1920s. This is actually a cesium photocell for movie-projector sound pickup.
