There is so much happening at the MERITO Foundation this Fall, that we did not tell you that the first professional development webinar for the EECCOA Program 2020-2021 took place on Oct. 20. The program will provide virtual teacher training webinars, an activity guide adapted for distance learning, virtual field experiences, and mentoring sessions to assist students who are designing project proposals for the EECCOA Virtual Challenge 2021. We are Week 3 of MERITO’s Marine Science After School Beach Camp, and our students are having a blast learning about marine animal taxonomy & coastal ecology, catching sand crabs, birding, helping restore the Kalorama wetland, and of course having some fun at the beach.
