Meridian Center for Wellness 31.10.2020

I remember being amazed when I first came to work at Meridian Center for Wellness and by work, I mean play. What surprised me was the immediate sense of refreshment I felt when I walked through the door. I am a teacher, and worked at Meridian part time, after school. I often arrived in full blown afternoon slump, when tucking into a large latte seemed like a better idea than heading into a second job. However, within moments of being in the building, I was completely ...recharged. And I heard the same thing, over and over again, from clients! Before I just accepted the phenomenon with gratitude, I tried to analyze the why of it. Was it the soothing music that often emanated from practitioners rooms or the lobby? The subtle whiffs of aromatherapy that floated in and out of my consciousness? Or was it the sweet harmony of the gentle souls that both practiced and came to partake of the treatments there? I eventually grew to realize that the energy of a culmination of all those things, and more, were what created the ambiance of peace and renewal that Meridian gifted to me, and to all the people who came through those doors. Seekers, all of us. For as beings on this planet, each of us seek renewal, growth, spark, joy. The practitioners of Meridian Center for Wellness are taking those gifts out into the larger world now. The building is for sale. The sparkle, the energy, remains and some lucky new owner is in for a delightful surprise! The building itself is amazing, but oh, the joyful energy has become a part of the very bones of the place is absolutely palpable. I look forward with eager anticipation to see what wonderful new possibilities for work and play emerge!" (Ginger Allen) See more

This is no April Fool’s joke, Meridian Center for Wellness is closing it’s doors on April 1, 2016. It is with grateful, joyful, sentimental hearts that we look back over the years and remember the people who passed through our doors and became never-to-be-forgotten friends and family. We will be keeping this FaceBook page open as a space for celebrating the place, the people, the magical alchemy that has made Meridian such a special place. We have so much to be grateful fo...r. We thought we would start the farewell party with this poem, written by our friend, Tony Calgano. It has hung in a place of honor at Meridian, and will forever be in our hearts. A Jewel of a Place There is this place on Center Street. It’s a jewel of a place. It’s unassuming to look at In fact it’s easy to pass by. But pass it by you shouldn’t As it is a very special place. It’s special because of the people. People who care. People who are sweet and of good intention. People who heal. Because they have healed themselves. It’s a healing place. You can pass by it. But I wouldn’t. A jewel is to be appreciated. A jewel is something to be admired. A jewel is not something to pass by. There is this place on Center Street. It’s a jewel of a place. Thank you.

Meet Meridian's newest Massage Therapy Practitioner! Candice Lopez, CMP (#59559), has been practicing massage therapy since completing her training with the California Holistic Institute in San Luis Obispo in the summer of 2014. Candice specializes in Deep Tissue, Swedish and Sports Massage, as well as Trigger Point therapies.... Candice has been involved in sports throughout her life, but early on suffered various injuries to her back and knees. By the age of seventeen, Candice had already had both ACL ligaments replaced, and had overcome a painful back injury. These injuries sparked her passion for holistic health and well-being. Candice’s mission is to help others achieve their own personal best level of health and pain-free living. She found relief from her own pain through muscle releases and adjustments while under the care of a Chiropractor. The many benefits of muscular release inspired Candice to become a Certified Massage Practitioner . The benefits of massage therapy merely begin with liberating the body from muscular tension. Massage can also calm the nervous system, and has been proven to bring relief to people who suffer from anxiety and depression. Massage is, in fact, a wonderful way to discover one’s own mind/ body connection. Candice continues her education at College of the Sequoias as a Kinesiology: Exercise Science major, and will transfer to a four-year university to complete her degree. She values knowledge as the means by which she can better facilitate each client's healing process, as well as indulging her love of teaching people about their own bodies. "The most rewarding part of my job is when I can help my clients increase their ability to listen with their inner ear, thereby gaining a better understanding of how they can help themselves."

Can we talk about your health? Are you physically ready for the intense conditions that your body is subject to during the cold winter months? As we step into wintry weather, Meridian Center for Wellness practitioner, Jennifer Brandolino, RN, CIHom, is offering Mini-Consultations to help you elevate your level of physical well-being for the upcoming season. This is a good opportunity to see how well the natural therapies Jennifer provides can help enhance your immune syste...m and shorten the duration of symptoms, if they do occur. The most important piece being that these therapies work without suppressing symptoms, which can be our body’s way of alerting us to more serious conditions. Mini-consults are 20-30 minute phone sessions for acute conditions, any recent or new symptoms of short duration, such as colds, flu, injuries, food poisoning, allergic reactions, bites, stings, yeast infections, etc or anything that you generally run to the store to get over-the-counter medications for. Mini-consults can also be used to formulate a customized set of remedies to have at the ready for the symptoms that are most common to your household. The remedies will be available to you at Meridian Center for Wellness within a day. Mini-phone consultations (20-30 min)-$35. Remedies priced separately, are available at Meridian Center for Wellness: 1105 W. Center Street in Visalia 559-636-6430 Call Jennifer @949-205-8539 to set up your consultation.
