Praise God! I’m so grateful to God for His kindness to our family. My name is Julia S. I’m currently attending 6th grade. I’m one of five siblings. My father went to be with the Lord six years ago. We were then sent to a Christian Orphanage. Not too long after that, my mother became lonely and brought us back home. We grew to be faithful and dependent on God for our lives, and we always pray that God will always give our mother strength to take care and provide for us. ... One day mother had a light stroke, but through prayers and God’s faithfulness, she recovered. Through prayers and alternative medicine, mother could go back to work and earn a living for us children. Mercy Bridge graduate receives a full scholarship to University! We first met Felicia in 2015 when she was a junior in high school. We asked her what she wanted to do after high school. She promptly replied that she wanted to become a doctor, not to make money, but to give back to her community. The health care in the villages is very poor with very few doctors. She has been attending school with the help of Mercy Bridge funds and her parents couldn’t afford to send her to a ...University. Because of her excellent academic standing, she was accepted on Full Scholarship at University majoring in Analytical Chemistry. One step closer to her dream of becoming a doctor. This is the note she wrote to us while in high school: Shalom, I've been enrolled in Mercy Bridge Program at Church since I was little until present. Starting from Kindergarten till currently, I truly feel the impact of this program. Because of this program, I was able to take many different lessons and courses while still set aside time to teach Sunday School. I'm so grateful to Mercy Bridge; through this program I am also growing in the knowledge of God. We have just received a request to help 41 additional children attend school. We want to give them a chance at a good education and keep them out of certain schools that often are ultimately terrorist breeding grounds. Mercy Bridge doesn't have the monthly funds for these kids but we have trouble saying "no". We hope you do too. We need 20-40 people who can give $10-20 per month to change lives now and for eternity. Update from our friends in Indo: Thanks so much for so many of you who let us know you were praying. The Lord did seem to answer but prayer is still needed! Here's an update: The demonstration was mostly peaceful until the end. Police had to use tear gas to disband the crowd and one person died of an asthma attack. Other than that no serious injuries were reported. Governor Ahok (a Chinese Christian who has done a lot to eradicate corruption in Jakarta - no small feat that w...as started by the former governor, Joko Widodo, who is now Indonesia's president and an Ahok supporter) will be investigated starting Monday to determine if he blasphemed the Quran. This will be serious if they find him guilty! In a country that is majority Muslim it is hard to imagine that Gov. Ahok will get a fair investigation. But given the fact that thousands were on the streets on Friday (many calling for Ahok's death or imprisonment) with almost no major problems we can imagine God answering this prayer as well! Please pray that God will protect Gov. Ahok and his family and that the Lord will grant him wisdom and favor. See more
