We honor all those who gave their lives for our country and stand in strength with those they left behind. #memorialday
On the one-year anniversary of George Floyd's murder, we honor the life and memory of Mr. Floyd and so many others who have lost their lives as a result of racism. MHALA also doubles down in our support of the Black and African American community and in our commitment to advance equity and social justice. Hatred and violence are the enemies of true mental health. Christina Miller, Ph.D. President & CEO May 25, 2021... . . . . . . . . . . . . . #GeorgeFloyd #BlackLivesMatter #justice #mentalhealth #useyourvoice

Immigrant communities work on the frontlines and have been the most affected during this pandemic but they have been left out of COVID recovery funding. The pandemic showed that immigrant communities are both essential and excluded in the LA County ecosystem. We urge the LA County Board of supervisors to allocate 35% of the $1.9 billion into immigrant communities! #ImmigrantsAreLA #AJustRecovery4All Hilda Solis Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell Supervisor Sheila Kuehl Supervisor Janice Hahn Supervisor Kathryn Barger . Check out this event tomorrow in person or online: https://www.facebook.com/events/509079013560511

Deteriorating mental health is one of the most pressing consequences of the pandemic, made worse by another devastating effect increasing joblessness. On #GivingTuesday, help Mental Health America of Los Angeles raise critical funds to help people with mental health needs and no financial resources get a second chance at living healthy, meaningful lives. When you support MHALA, you help provide health care services, job and life skills, housing assistance, and other services to people in our community. If you can help, visit https://www.mhala.org/support-us/give-now/

In this season of gratitude, we join our members in thanking our supporters for their generosity. Masks and work attire from Nifty Genius, toiletries from Cremo Company and pillows from Delta Air Lines go a long way with those members experiencing housing and employment insecurity. Thank you!!
