2020 being what it has been, Spay/Neuter appointments are hard to come by. The Care A Van and the Clinic at Animal Care Services are doing everything possible to keep Spay/Neuter happening so this does not happen to you! Please keep calling 707-513-7604 until you get through. And please understand that it may take awhile to get through. We are sad to say that due to fire activity in multiple areas we have to cancel the Care-A-Van at JD Redhouse tomorrow, 8-19-2020. We will try to contact people with surgeries scheduled and will work on getting new dates for everyone. We are sorry for any inconvenience and hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Covid 19 Update - July 24, 2020 Since the county reopening in June 2020, the Mobile Caravan has been conducting Spay & Neuter Surgery events in the outlying areas of Mendocino County. Due to the recent surge in Covid 19 cases within Mendocino County, Animal Care Services has reassessed the Mobile Caravan Spay & Neuter program and determined that in the best interest and safety of all our employees & citizens that future Mobile Caravan Spay & Neuter Surgery events will be he...ld in the Clinic at the Animal Shelter located at 298 Plant Road, Ukiah, CA. Future surgery dates to be held at the Clinic will be posted on the Mobile Caravan social media web pages. The scheduled Mobile Caravan Surgery date for August 7th in Boonville, CA has been relocated to the Clinic at the Animal Shelter located at 298 Plant Road, Ukiah, CA. Citizens are requested to show up between 08:00 a.m. - 09:00 a.m that morning and go to the west of the building "Clinic Entrance" for staff to assist them. Please adhere to the social distancing instructions on the stanchion posted outside the Clinic entrance. The scheduled Mobile Caravan Surgery dates for August 12th at the Redwood Valley Grange, Redwood Valley, CA and for August 19th at JD Redhouse in Willits, CA are still set to take place on these dates & locations. Citizens are requested to show up between 08:00 a.m. - 09:00 a.m. on these morning and adhere to social distancing practices. As the Covid 19 situation improves Animal Care Services will look to incorporate Spay & Neuter Surgery events back out in the outlying areas. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you. Mendocino Co Care-A-Van was working at the Grange in Redwood Valley today. 4 dogs and 19 cats were spayed and neutered by our vet, Kirsten Jorgenson.
