Tightness in the hip flexor muscles commonly inhibit the glutes from activating. This is due to reciprocal inhibit. When one muscle is tight or contracted, the antagonistic muscle cannot be. Incline Dumbbell Chest Fly We use this exercise to focus muscle fibers of the pec major. Lie on your back on an incline bench and hold a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip. Place feet flat on the ground. Bring elbows out and down to the sides, keep a slight bend in the elbows, and wrists stay parallel to each other.
