Over the past couple days I have tried to express the devastation our community is experiencing, but words and pictures simply cannot do it justice. An estimate...d 100 structures have been lost and while many of those are barns and stables the vast majority are homes. The fire moved so fast that saving personal items was not a possibility. If you know someone that has suffered through this reach out to them. Many people have crowd sourcing campaigns in place to help start rebuilding their lives. If you don't know anyone, but would like to donate to help these families move forward, the Northern Mono County Chamber of Commerce, Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Mammoth Community Foundation are collecting funds to be distributed to those in need. All of these funds will be distributed to our community by the Northern Mono County Chamber of Commerce and donations can be made using this link: https://www.mammothlakeschamber.org/ If you have other items to donate there are several places receiving items the most local to our area being the Meadowcliff Lodge Coleville-Walker Koa.
