Shajuadddin Omarkheil & Mobin Andishmand travelled half way across the world with their families to escape from war and provide for their families with a safe place to call home. On Saturday morning, Mobin, Shajahuddin, his 4 year old daughter and another customer were shopping inside of East Sharq Market off El Camino in Sacramento. At 3pm, a gunman entered the store where the victims and were shopping. Both Mobin and Shajahuddin were shot in the head; Shajahuddin in front ...of his daughter. One other customers was also shot but survived. This tragedy has sent shock waves through the Afghan community a majority of which has come to the United States to escape incidents such as these. Shajahuddin was an amazing father and Husband. His widow now finds herself alone to raise 2 children in a country she barely knows anything about with very limited language skills. Mobin is leaving behind his parents, and 3 younger siblings. He was of great character and was dutiful to his family and a great friend to all. He was a Qur’an teacher and Student and well known in his community. Both of the victims were a special part of our community.
