IMPORTANT NOTICE (OFFICER ELECTIONS): Dear MBA Members, As this semester comes to an end, 4 out of 5 of MBA's board will be graduating. As such, if you would like to run for any officer position and make the McGeorge Business Association even greater than it already is, please send me a private message with your name, email, phone number, the position you would like to run for and a photo of yourself. ... Please get back to me as soon as possible so that I can create an online election forum for our members to vote. Below, you will find the available officer positions and the description of each officer's duties: Article VIII Duties of Officers Section 1. The duties of the President shall be to: a. To be the official representative of MBA and to preside over all Executive Board and regular membership meetings. b. Call all special meetings. c. Sign all financial documents of the organization (mandatory). Section 2. The duties of the Vice President shall be to: a. Act as the President should the President for any reason be unable to carry out the Presidential duties. b. Assist the President in administering the business of organizing and facilitating general meetings. Section 3. The duties of the Secretary shall be to: a. Take brief minutes of each meeting and take care of any major correspondence concerning MBA as a whole. Section 4. The duties of the Treasurer shall be to: a. Keep a record of all financial and historical documents. b. Sign all financial documents (not mandatory). Section 5. The duties of the Director of Marketing shall be to: a. Generally, promote MBA events and recruit members b. Manage all social media accounts

Dear MBA members, Employment Law is hosting an event directly related to issues you will be facing as business attorneys. A panel of attorneys (plaintiff and defense) will discuss classification of workers as employees vs. independent contractors in app based businesses like Uber and Lyft. Dear members of the McGeorge Business Association: Come network and gain some insight into business law! Megan Cosgrove is an associate at DLA Piper will be attending the event to give some insight as to what it is like working at a firm that helps companies from startups to multinational companies with their corporate, intellectual property and dispute resolution needs. With the overwhelming pressure of the first few weeks of school behind us, I hope that you are all ready to discuss some business.
