Thank you for a great Ramadan! Many parents have asked us whether they may bring their children to one of this Thursday's five outdoor Eid prayers in the MCC parking. The Alameda County Health Department still recommends that children under 13 and adults over 65 not attend public gatherings.... We understand Eid is a family celebration. We share our county health department recommendation so you can make the best decision for the safety and well-being of your family. Please use your discretion. For our part, we will be sanitizing the parking lot between each Eid service, all worshipers will be 6-feet apart and wearing masks, and the Eid Khutbah will be shortened to less than 10 minutes. Please RSVP for each family member who will require a prayer spot: http://ow.ly/zCv930rHenC

Mark Poulin's spiritual journey to Islam began in the mid-1990s when he read Alex Haley's "The Autobiography of Malcolm X." Mark was taken by the effect that Islam had on the fiery Malcolm and his more even-tempered nature after El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz returned from the Hajj pilgrimage. For the next 25 years, Mark thought about Islam every now and then.... In mid 2019, when his daughter was born, he was at a loss for how to raise her. He then searched online and read how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reared his daughter, Fatima (RA). What he found struck a chord with him and he felt his heart turn. "... I believe Allah reached out to me. I can't raise her just by using Sunnah and ignoring Islam. Its not just about raising my daughter, its about finding what life really is, and how to live it properly by submitting to Allah and doing what he asks of us. So, my heart is ready. Alhamdulillah," he wrote to MCC's New Muslim support group in the days leading to his Shahada. He said before his Shahadah about finding out about the Prophet's parenting style: "That was my answer. Every brother and sister who is a parent, if you have no idea how to raise your child properly, it is a terrible dilemma. Allah opened my heart to this. He showed me the way and I believe it. That's the way I'm going to do things. That's why I've come here today. I want to become a Muslim," Mark said. Mark, 54, then took his Shahadah (Declaration of Faith) with Sidi Mahdi Amine after the outdoor Jumu'ah prayer service at the Muslim Community Center - East Bay (MCC East Bay) in Pleasanton, California on Friday, February 19, 2021. - More Shahadah moments at the MCC: http://mcceastbay.org/shahada - - More highly-viewed recordings on this channel: http://mcceastbay.org/popular If you are a new Muslim in the San Francisco Bay Area who would like to receive updates from MCC for new Muslims, please visit http://mcceastbay.org/new-muslim More MCC East Bay: Events & Activities: http://www.mcceastbay.org/calendar Weekly Updates: http://www.mcceastbay.org/newsletter Support MCC: https://www.mcceastbay.org/sadaqa Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/MCCPleasanton Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mcceastbay #shahadamoments #mcceastbay

We are living in a time filled with corruption, hate, and rudeness.
