THE GOOD OLD DAYS. Is that a thing? I had parents come through foster care training groups that would reminisce on the days of young children. Others find teen age to be a delight and work well with them. I have this verse on my fridge and look at it daily. Sometimes I need to be present, and not worry about past or future. Too much distraction in that way can throw us off track and want to give up. One thing I know is no matter what the age of the child, if we don’t give u...p, there is immense reward that sometimes we don’t understand it in the present. One family I worked with said that they would not take a certain teen in again, and they needed to part ways. The teen left and then 6 months later called me and said she understood what her foster parents were trying to teach her and wanted to come back to them. She didn’t see it at the time, but seeds were being planted. #motherhood #intentionalparenting #peacefulparenting
