Community Conversations about Race, Religion, and Reconciliation! Fresno is a large community made up of people from many different religions and backgrounds. There are more than 40 languages spoken throughout the county and 10 different religions represented.These differences can lead to disagreement, frustration, and even hostility. Is there a way to move beyond the status quo and create a space for dialogue and understanding? What happens when we come together and share a...bout our differences, while finding commonality in our hope for a society marked by justice and reconciliation? Can we talk about the problems of the past and present, and journey together to a future filled with possibility? Come and discover what can happen when people come together! For three nights this summer, people from Fresno’s diverse faith communities are coming together to honestly discuss what life is like for them in the current political climate. We want to work towards acceptance, and dream about a future where walls and boundaries have been torn down and diversity is celebrated as our strength. Join us from 7 pm to 9 pm each of the three evenings listed below, all at Fresno Pacific University. All are invited, and every event is free of charge. It happens through Relationship! June 29th- Stories From Our Youth We will have young people from different backgrounds share their stories of life in America. We will also have a Q and A with the audience to talk about some of the issues raised. June 30th- Seeking Peace Through Reconciliation and Forgiveness We will hear stories of how people have dealt with conflict from a personal and community level and then do a Q and A with the audience. July 1st- Community Celebration This will be a time of sharing cultural songs, dances, and talents with each other around snacks and conversation. These community conversations are happening as part of a peace camp sponsored by Building Leaders 4 Peace. Building Leaders 4 Peace creates safe spaces for people to talk about peace through reconciliation and forgiveness. SOAR Mexico has an been amazing journey with Jesus. Our teams have been using graffiti art, dance, drama, and verbal witnessing to share the gospel. Pictured is a freshly-colored wall in a neighborhood that says Salvation in Spanish. Many adults and children from the community joined in as we celebrated Christ and proclaimed His resurrection. SOAR Mexico 2018 is a multi-national mission with churches and people from Colombia, Mexico, Canada, USA, Cambodia and more! Pray as we complete our final ministry day with one final outreach and wrap up Friday with a team debrief.

Pray for our ACTION Fresno teams serving in Europe, Africa, and SE Asia. They’re pictured below in the large photo (with program staff) near the General Grant Giant Sequoia Tree. It is the 3rd largest tree by volume in the world, and a good reminder of Luke 13:18-19 regarding God’s Kingdom. The Lithuania team is in country now but our other teams are on very long flights. We are asking God for a harvest and Kingdom impact that continues to grow and thrive even after our teams return home! From Garry Prieb: Just returned from 5 days in Tembo, DR Congo, ministering to Mennonite Brethren pastors from the Tembo and Wamba provinces and many from our church in Angola. What a fantastic time. Was told to expect 35 pastors for my teachings on the book of 1 Corinthians. 233 attended and were so eager to learn. On the first day, last Monday, they presented me with salt and red pili-pili peppers as a symbol that the door, from their perspective, was now open for me to sha...re God's Word. Following that they gave me two goats. On the final day, Thursday, a woman from the Angola delegation presented me with two precious doves. At the conclusion, yesterday, they gave me a beautiful Congolese shirt which I shall proudly wear. "We today are living what the church at Corinth experienced long ago. Pray for us. Thank you for teaching us," said MB church leader and president Rev. Gerald Mambakila. Teaching went from 8:30 to 1 pm with a half hour break, then from 2:30 to 4:30 each day. All attending will now take back to their villages this teaching. "Because of this teaching from Corinthians some of us are already changing our behavior," said one participant. See more

150 girls in Omafu, Namibia received a new, beautiful dress hand-sewn by a few generous ladies from Reedley MB Church. Our teammate, Garry Prieb, was able to deliver them to a very excited group of girls. Garry, along with a few others from MB Mission, is traveling through Namibia and Congo through mid-May to encourage the churches there. Please pray for them as they travel and share.

The blooming lilies in front of our office go right along with today's LIFE Journal reading. "And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his lifespan? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil not spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Meet Fallon Puckett, a high school student from Washington State, who spent three weeks in Northern Thailand and experienced the love of God in a way that brought peace and clarified thoughts about her future.

Please pray for a Vision Team from California & Kansas currently traveling through Thailand. They are asking God for VISION on how to partner and respond to the work that God is doing in Thailand as they visit MB Mission workers & national pastors. How is God inviting you to respond locally, nationally and globally?

We're still praising God for an incredible summer! Approximately 70 young adults from all over North America gathered to "blitz Thailand" with the love and grace of God. The adventure started in Reedley, CA with Orientation-- a week packed with spiritual formation, team-building, and training. The Assignment phase began quickly as 6 different teams flew to Thailand and served at different locations with MB Mission workers. The ACTION program ends with an intentional time of slowing down and reflecting on what God did and what He may be up to next. It was pie & missions night at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church yesterday! Thanks to Vic Wiens & Bob Davis who shared stories of people whose lives are different because of Jesus-- with a special focus on our brothers & sisters in SE Asia. Pray with us for the people of Burkina Faso, where unrest continues following a coup last week that unseated the interim president. The MCC team, who all live ...and work in the capital Ouagadougou, are sheltering safe in their homes. They report that our work with partners in food security, AIDS awareness and education projects, like almost all activity in the country, has halted. May peace come soon. See more

Bethany Church built some good connections towards future ministry with the churches there. We had a great time of ministry and saw God at work.

MB Mission is forming a basketball team for a mission to Thailand June 24-July 15, 2015. Our women's roster is filling up quickly - please apply soon. The men's roster has openings but we encourage you to sign up today. This mission is for ages 17 and older. We are looking for 2 athletic trainers who can serve our teams as well. Both teams will be competing against the top Universities in Thailand, conducting outreach camps, serving our local churches and orphans.
