I miss events SO much! There I said it. I have been quiet and completely mia from this feed largely because of the affects Covid has had on my creative business. It’s been a hard pill to swallow and I just haven’t felt like sharing all that much. Viewing images from past weddings and events I have designed gets me in my feelings and reminds me of a time before Covid when we’d embrace one another, laugh, and share in deeply profound celebrations of love and life! To say that... I don’t miss these moments, and in helping others create them would be an understatement. While I have found ways to pivot through a second small business that I launched last November, it isn’t the same. This new venture has been a great distraction amidst a time of so much uncertainty and it has allowed me to pour my creative juices into something new and inspiring, but it doesn’t replace the desire that I have to plan and design events. For now, I have chosen to smile, to stay hopeful, and to share the beautiful moments that I have helped create over the past 15+ years of my career as an Event Planner. This too shall pass... ALL LIVES CANNOT and DO NOT MATTER until BLACK LIVES MATTER. How can I matter when some of my own family members and close friends don’t matter??? If the people that are against violent rioting and looting put the same amount of energy as they do into sharing and debating why these acts of violence upsets them or it isn’t right into the BLM movement, we’d actually be A LOT more united right now, but they’re deflecting from the issue at hand and I’m here to say STOP!!! Don’...t tell a black person how they should feel. Don’t tell a black person what the right way to riot is. And most importantly don’t tell a black person how this is all so unfair to those small businesses caught in the crossfire, because many of those small businesses WILL recover, but a life lost is personal property that cannot be rebuilt or saved. You are allowing yourself to turn a blind eye and be distracted by some broken glass vs understanding the root and cause behind these riots and the message that is being conveyed. In every circle, there are a few bad apples. Don’t let these bad apples blind you from the fact that BLACK LIVES MATTER and are more precious than ANY damaged property...simple as that. Furthermore I’ve been quiet because I’ve been sad, angry, and frustrated and using this time to explain to my 8yr old son what racism is, why people are protesting and rioting and what equality and justice should stand for. I have shared videos of some of the black lives that have been lost and I’m proud to say my son had the right reaction...he was angry and sad at what he saw. I drove by our local protest yesterday so he could see other races in support of the BLM movement and I have vowed to educate my brown boy on what it’s like to be a POC in this world we live in, with a broken system. #blacklivesmatter #latinosforblacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforahmaudarbery #justiceforbreonnataylor

From high school sweethearts to breaking up and living completely separate lives to reuniting and realizing the love they had was always there. These two found their way back to each other and realized it was meant to be. They made their union official by tying the knot amongst family and childhood friends who have witnessed them grow individually and as a couple, including myself.
