Neat trick for closing up less-than-perfect miters. Often times there will be a little belly in a cut if a panel doesn’t stay completely straight and flat as you run it through the blade. The result is typically a little gap along your joint. A seemingly sad state of affairs. However, a little brutishness and sanding can save it. Side note: I find it best to do this right after clamping up, before the glue dries as it smashes the wood fibers in and they dry in place with the glue, creating a filler for sanding or rounding over with a router once dry. #woodworkingtips #mitre #whiteoak
I want to take a moment to show my appreciation for these two forces on #internationalwomensday. My wife @sm_mcdonald and daughter, Luca. Not only are they both incredibly creative, and crazy smart, but also so kind hearted and and just in the world they way a person should be. I work HARD everyday to be more like them and never come close, but they are here to show us the way so, we will be ok!
We try so many different ways to do things ,and we learn a lot along the way. For me, pre-finishing when possible is a handy trick. Watch the video to see why. #woodfinishing #furnituremaking #woodworking #rubiomonocoat
