Summer's arrival means your vehicle's air conditioning system is going to be under a serious strain before long. If you haven't had your system serviced in a while, now's the time.
Summer is the main season for cone zones, road construction where you will likely hit a bump or two, or come across loose stones and other hazards. These rough road conditions can be tough on a vehicle’s steering and suspension system and can throw out the alignment, while loose stones have the potential to damage the vehicle’s exterior or windshield, according to the non-profit Car Care Council.
This is how the combination of an engine, fuel, and air makes your car move, explained in plain English, in case you're not an engineer.

We purchased a used Cadillac from a family member. It was in excellent shape with low miles. However, It developed a small oil leak which was bothersome. We took it to the dealer. Their quote seemed quite high so we decided to investigate other options. I did some online research and contacted Matt's Caddy Shack via email on their website. In a matter of minutes, I received a phone call from Matt. We took the vehicle in for diagnostic work to determine the source of the... leak. We met with Matt and learned about how they do things at his shop. It was refreshing to speak with the owner. They called with an estimate (that included some additional work that would be needed soon and it was easier / more cost effective to do it sooner as opposed to later). The total was less than the dealer's quote. So, we got more for less and felt much more confident in the integrity of the work completed. Given that Matt's name is on the business / brand, he takes great pride in ownership. We were pleased with the entire process and consider Matt's our "go to" service center. See more

The best auto mechanic experience ever! I have been using Matt’s services for at least four years and I have never been disappointed. Excellent commitment to superior service, honesty, decent prices, and great recommendations are some of their staples. I bet I also have saved a lot of money by being a loyal customer. Just one example: The end of last year, I visited a competitor out of courtesy because they are in my networking group. I needed an expert opinion whether I had... to change my brakes and after having my car in the shop for an hour I received a quote for over $500. When I didn’t commit to getting the work done they used scare tactic and tried really hard to pressure me into signing the work orderdisgusting! The next day I went to Matt’s with the same request. Result after just 15 minutes of inspection: No new brakes needed, but maybe after another 6 months or so the rotors need to be turned. See more
I was so upset with a high quote from a reputable mechanic to fix my truck. I called Matt and explained what was wrong with it. He explained in detail how to correct the problem and quoted me MUCH less than the other place. I didn't tell him how much they quoted me so he wasn't just trying to beat there price. He ended up fixing the truck and correcting another problem that the previous mechanic did to the master cylinder at no cost. Matt is one of the last few honest mechanics around. He has earned our respect and business.
I have found my new auto shop! I've been in San Diego for 13 years and the majority of the auto work I have needed done had been minimal and I've done it myself. The few things that I don't mess with, break lines/gas lines/things requiring large tools, I have bounced from shop to shop. Usually I am talked down to or treated like an idiot because I'm a girl but finally I found a shop that is just straight forward, no bullshit and talks to me like I'm a person. From the first m...oment I called, I spoke with Matt and he was very helpful. When going to the shop I was always greeted right away when walking in and greeted with a smile. Matt not only took a drive to listen to the problem but because we were possibly dealing with a dealership issue, he offered to check it out as much as possible for free and let me know before I was going to incur any costs. After they found the problem, didn't end if being from the dealership, the cost to repair was very reasonable and done fast! They also advised of another issue found but I told them we would have to wait for now. When I picked up my truck I was reminded of the other issue and something else they saw. I will definitely be back to have the other things taken care of. Don't let the name of the shop fool you, I have a Toyota not a Caddy and they were amazing! See more
We found Matt's Caddy Shack from his sign on the back of his place on Hwy 67. I had just purchased a used Cadillac and needed someone to do a few things to it. Matt was SUPER! He is honest and fair! His prices are very reaonable and he does not charge for what he doesn't need to do! We now take all of our cars there to include a classic 56 Bel Air. Matt's is our go to shop for anything we need and we are happy to share his information with friends and family! You can't go wrong with Matt's Caddy Shack - don't be fooled by the name! :)
Just had my 2004 dodge 2500 5.9L worked on at matts caddy shack. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem in no time when I could not seem to figure out the issue. Was scrambling to find a mechanic that is trust worthy. Let's just say I have found a reliable mechanic that I will return to if there is something I can not fix myself. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because I was very anxious to know the issue and I had to call them twice which I understand they were swamped but both times I called they were able to provide me and answer.
