A note from Kyle Draper on our 5 YEAR anniversary: Five* years ago today, we finished a 4 month buildout on our recording studio, Mateo Sound. As we were putting the finishing touches on the room, David Burris cracked open our first protools session and called it TEST. We threw Saro in the booth to riff on TEST, and if you’re familiar with the Saro catalogue, you know that TEST grew into one of his staple songs that to this day is still a highlight in the live set.... Running an independent music operation is the most difficult endeavor I’ve ever pursuedprogress is difficult and comes slowly, but looking back at our growth over these years fills me with so much pride in what we have accomplished as an independent operation. The most exciting part is that we are really just barely even getting started... Since 2014, we’ve grown into a record label, we’ve played major music festivals, we throw a monthly live event, but we take the most pride in knowing we’ve created a community and safe space for all the amazing artists that come through our studio to collaborate with Dave. There are too many of you guys to tag here, but know that it is the biggest honor of my life to get to a part of every artist’s journey that we’ve worked with over the years.
