What's overdue is action! The City Council must pass laws that drastically reduce the role, responsibilities and presence of police in San Diego. Passing PrOTECT would ban pretext stops and consent searches by SDPD, which disproportionately impact and harm people of color, disabled people, youth, unhoused people and LGBTQ+ people in San Diego.
