It has been a crazy year on the west coast for fires, and Oregon was not spared this year. Andy Myer at Weisinger Family Winery and Goldback Winery in Ashland is seen in this photo talking about how the fire was headed right toward the winery but pushed northwest beyond the mountain above...and thinking of how and when they were going to pick their estate vineyard on the mountain. The cork harvest is a special time of year for us at MA Silva. Normally, we would have spent a week this summer with some of our customers exploring the cork forests, educating on cork closure production and testing, and enjoying the culture of Portugal.
