This is just a quick reminder, school begins at 8am tomorrow and students will now be attending Periods 4-6. Important- There were some scheduling issues that occurred this past Friday, 10/30 which may have changed some 7th and 8th grade classes, but those schedules have been fixed and returned to the correct schedule. Good Evening Marshall Families, Being an adolescent is tough, but so is being a parent. We at MMS recognize that the social-emotional well-being of our students and families is an essential priority for schools and our community. According to the World Health Organization, anxiety disorders are the most common mental health challenge in the U.S., impacting 54 percent of females and 46 percent of males, with age seven being the median age of onset. This awareness has never bee...n more apparent than in our current situation where our students feel more isolated and cut off from friends and peers than ever before. We know this time is challenging and we want to do everything we can to help our families navigate this tumultuous time. Good Afternoon Mustangs, This is Marshall Middle School with a couple of important announcements. ELA Textbooks... Our new ELA textbooks and workbooks are now available and ready for pick-up. These supplies are for all students, even if a student does not have ELA until next quarter. We recognize that some families may not be able to attend their designated pick up, so we've added a make-up day on Monday, Oct. 5th, from 2-5pm. Good Evening Mustang Parents, Marshall Middle School is excited to present our new virtual Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 16th. The new online learning format for this school year has prompted us to adapt how we host Back to School Night and introduce our staff to families. This year, we will be hosting a pre-recorded video of each one of your child’s teachers for you to watch at your convenience. These videos will include information on curriculum, the teacher’...s goals and expectations for students, as well as the personal and professional background of your student’s teacher. Just like traditional Back to School Night, teachers will share contact information in case parents need to speak or meet virtually with teachers at a later time. Another new feature this year is for our students with IEP’s. All of our MMS Case Managers will also be making a short introductory video for students and families to watch to learn more about who will be managing their IEP’s. We know that videos can’t fully replace the experience of meeting your student’s teacher in person but we think you’ll enjoy watching a thorough explanation by your student’s teacher at your convenience.
