We are here for patients of all ages, and what makes Marque Urgent Care unique is that we have CHOC Children's Pediatricians! You can see a CHOC Children's pediatrician: In-person at our Mission Viejo clinic: - Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 8 pm... - Saturday - Sunday, 12 pm - 8 pm Or virtually from the comfort of home: - Monday - Friday, 2 pm - 10 pm - Saturday - Sunday, 12 pm - 8 pm Here's a great review from one of our patients on Google on 2/2/2021: "My son had some symptoms that our pediatrician said needed to get checked out within 24 hours, but their office was booked solid. I was able to get an appointment with another doctor for the next day, but in the meantime, it was after-hours and I was in a panic trying to figure out if my son's symptoms were getting worse and warranted a night time trip to the ER or local Urgent Care. For the CHOC Pediatric Urgent Care service, they did tell us that any symptomatic child could not be seen in person but could do a Zoom call, and if needed, prescriptions could be prepared through that. My kid had a fever, so he couldn't be seen in person, but I really like this policy because for any other issue that might come up after-hours, like stitches or bumps and bruises, I'm much more comfortable knowing that I can go there and feel safe about my kids getting treated without exposure to other illnesses. I signed up for a zoom consultation with a CHOC Pediatrician through Marque's website and within 20 minutes I was on a video call with an actual doctor who could look at my son's rash, see his demeanor and seriously calm me down and talk me out of the mental spiral I was in. It was so helpful and I was able to relax and actually get some sleep that night. Dr. Keni took her time with us, was comforting and was not at all condescending about my anxiety (I can't say the same for the doctor we ended up seeing in person the next day that was not a CHOC or Marque doctor. I wish we could have just gone to see Dr. Keni instead!) Will absolutely use this feature in the future, pandemic or not. It was even easier than getting a hold of our actual pediatrician for basic information and I am so glad it exists!" Since most of us are working from home and/or staying home more, it’s good to create a space that is both welcoming and calming which plants can help you with! Read this article by Bree : Do plants matter? Yes, in fact they DO. Not only are plants pretty to look at, but emerging evidence and studies have proven that exposure to plants and views of vegetation reduces stress, anxiety, restores attentional capacity and improves overall performance on a variety of cognitive tas...ks in the home and workplace. In simpler terms, plants are highly beneficial to human health and over all well-being. There are many benefits of having plants in your home and workspace. Introducing plants to an office environment creates more of a welcome and calming environment and can reduce stress. I read a research paper that studied a team of 60 office workers whom each experienced a plant and no-plant condition during the spring months. In the first year, 30 workers were exposed to plants on their desk and large floor-plants near and around their workspace. In the second year of the study, the roles were reversed and the plants were moved to the no-plants group. The researchers studied employee’s health symptoms using a standardized instrument that measured: skin problems, mucous membrane and neuropsychological symptoms. After the study was concluded, they reviewed the results and it was astounding. Fatigue, dry throat, dry skin, anxiety and concentration problems had all decreased when plants were present, some up to 30 percent! The researchers suggest that the health improvements were likely due to two mechanisms: improved air quality and the psychological value of being in a more pleasing environment. Studies have shown that plants can positively influence air quality, removing up to 87 percent of air toxins and eliminating a minimum of 300 grams of carbon dioxide. So, which plants do best in an office environment? Great question! Keeping plants in an office environment requires some forethought due to certain conditions such as light, air conditioning and periods where the office is empty. Plants that thrive in an office are: 1. Aloe 2. Succulents 3. Ivy 4. Rubber Plants 5. Cactus 6. Peace Lily 7. Orchid What does your workspace look like? Do you have plants on or around your desk? If you answered no, then go green! Buy some plants at your local nursery or hardware store today! https://marquemedical.com/the-power-of-plants-by-bree-ogden/

We are proud to support antibiotic resistance awareness. With patients hyper-focused on building and keeping healthy immune systems, our medical providers are uniquely positioned to build antibiotic stewardship into our diagnostic process and significantly increase resistance awareness clinic wide. We at Marque strive to provide the best medical care available, which includes education. We ensure that antibiotics are used only when necessary and appropriate. That means pres...cribing the right drug at the right dose at the right time for the right duration. The more antibiotics are used, the less effective they become. As bacteria are exposed to antibiotics, the bacteria adapt and become increasingly able to defeat the drugs. This evolution can happen gradually or quickly, but all antibiotic use accelerates the process. Unfortunately, data show high levels of unneeded antibiotic prescribing across health care settings in the United States. For example, 1 in 3 antibiotic prescriptions written in doctors’ offices, emergency rooms, and hospital-based clinicsabout 47 million prescriptions annuallyis completely unnecessary. Effective antibiotic stewardship can reduce this type of misuse and help slow the emergence of resistance. We are here for our patients and our community. Stay healthy and safe! #AntibioticAwareness #MarqueUrgentCare #BeAware #AntibioticResistance

November is #NationalDiabetesMonth! Diabetes is one of the most common chronic conditions in school-aged youth in the United States. This year’s theme is ‘we stand greater,’ because together, we can conquer this disease. Together, we stand greater than diabetes. There are two different types of diabetes, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 diabetes occurs at every age and in people of every race, shape and size. ... In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Your body breaks down the carbohydrates you eat and converts it into glucose (blood sugar) and then uses it for energy. Insulin is the hormone that is needed to get glucose from the bloodstream into the body. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. It means that your body produces insulin, unlike type 1, but it doesn’t use insulin properly. The good news is you can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. If you’re at risk, making small changes to the way you eat, increasing your physical activity or getting early treatment can, for some, return blood sugar levels to a normal range. Early detection is key when it comes to diabetes. This is why it’s important to KNOW YOUR NUMBERS. An A1C test is a blood test that reflects your average blood glucose levels over the past 3 months. The A1C test is sometimes called the hemoglobin A1C, HbA1C, glycated hemoglobin, or glycohemoglobin test. Hemoglobin is the part of a red blood cell that carries oxygen to the cells. With this blood test, your doctor can identify prediabetes, or diagnose type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Schedule an Annual Wellness Exam today at any of our Marque Urgent Care facilities and make an appointment to get your A1C checked! Covered by most insurance. COVID-19 antibody tests check your blood for antibodies that would show if you have had a previous COVID-19 infection. Our rapid antibody tests are from a reputable company called Biohit. While there are a few COVID-19 rapid tests in development by multiple companies, the SARS-Cov 2 IgM/IgG antibody test kit from Biohit has received emergency use authorization (EUA) from the FDA. This means it is safe to be used, and is the reason we have made it available at each of our ...10 convenient urgent care locations throughout Orange County, San Diego and Riverside. The rapid test is also available for businesses to test employees at our clinics. We are now offering our rapid antibody test for only $50. With a IgM sensitivity of 97.5% and specificity of 99.5%, you can feel confident in our rapid antibody tests. A Marque Medical Provider referral is not required.
