#throwback 45 years separate these two photo's capture dates. Before the drought of 1975-76, Marin Water and its customers relied solely on rainfall captured in reservoirs on Mt Tam and surrounding areas. Fast forward to today, and the district has been working to increase our water supply and prepare for drought including: - A direct pipeline to the Sonoma Water system. - A successful partnership with Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District provides recycled water to a portio...n of our district, saving potable water for essential uses. - Doubling Kent Lake's storage in 1983. - Soulajule Reservoir was added to our system as a seventh reservoir. - A state-of-the-art leak detection team has been put in place. - A more comprehensive water conservation program has been developed. See our MarinWater.org/Rebates for more info. To stay up to date on Marin Water's efforts to address drought visit MarinWater.org/Conserve

Did you know Marin Water has a Water Use Code? The code helps us cut down on water waste by making sure we are all using water as efficiently as possible. Follow the Water Use Code by: turning off your irrigation system when it rains (and for at least two days after), fixing any leaks as soon as you find them, and installing a shutoff nozzle on your hose. You can learn more about the Water Use Code at http://ow.ly/c97F50DwWQg.
