Stuart comes bearing gifts-- gold, frankincense, and MUSIC! Except actually no gold or frankincense, just music. In this video Stuart walks you through how to play one of the most serious, slow, minor songs of the holiday season!

Marin Music Center is having a mini-sale on mini-amps and mini-instruments! Laney Mini-ST battery powered guitar amps are 20% off! But if these mini amps are still too big, Vox amPlug2 bass and guitar headphone amplifiers are discounted 15%! Or if you want to bypass amplifiers altogether, our tiny little soprano Savannah Ukulele Packs are 25% off! This pre-holiday mini-sale starts TODAY November 4, and lasts through November 21! I wanted to fit in a Blink-182 All the Small Things reference with the whole mini theme, but I could’t make it work. So now I’m just awkwardly forcing it in at the end.

Today, we use this extra hour to introduce you to another one of our wonderful piano teachers, George Tingley. The music of George Tingley has been heard everywhere in film, on major network TV (CBS, ABC, and Fox) as well as on a variety of cable outlets such as Netflix, TNT, The Discovery Channel, and the Oprah Winfrey Network. He has also enjoyed the opportunity to record with the Skywalker Symphony (Lucas Film) as well as to have his music performed live at Carnegie Hall.... George has studied under some remarkable teachers including conductor Dr. Alexander Manke (a student of Richard Strauss), and the legendary French pedagogue Nadia Boulanger who is often cited as the most influential teacher of American composers in the 20th century. Mr. Tingley first reached a world-wide audience in the 1990s when he composed for Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi. In 1989 Mr. Tingley started writing music for the educational market and now has over 75 published piano pieces in including his most popular solo piece Reverie.
