With the warmer weather we've been experiencing, please help us spread the word about HOT ASPHALT AWARENESS by SHARING this post. All too often we have the best... intentions of taking our beloved companions out for a walk or to get exercise...but increasing temperatures can lead to burns on their paw pads. Please remember the 5 second rule: Place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds, if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them! Please remember to keep pets hydrated too! See more

It’s National rescue dog day! What a great day to welcome this little girl to our rescue. She’s about 2 months old. Good with other dogs. Lab pit mix we are gu...essing. Very sweet. Love the ears. More info and pics coming as we get to know her better. Big thank you to Jasmine and Nate who agreed to foster. We can’t do this without our amazing fosters. See more

Be Prepared: Wildfire Season has officially started. NOW would be a great time to put your prep kit together in case of emergency! Items like a two week supply ...of food & water, a recent photo of your pet and you, crates/carriers for cats, licensing, microchip, rabies vaccination and medical paperwork, paper towels, gloves, disinfectants, and blankets, medications and dosing instructions and veterinarian contact info, cat litter, litter box, scoop/doggy waste disposal bags, leashes, collars, and harnesses, toys, kongs, and other treats to help keep animals calm, and ID clips/tags to braid into horse's mane, & paint pens are helpful to have readily available. For more information and some great emergency preparedness tips, please visit CAL FIRE's website https://www.readyforwildfire.org//ge/wildfire-action-plan/ See more

Armed Forces Day is a special holiday for people all over the world to come together and thank the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. First concei...ved by President Harry S. Truman, the holiday was established in 1949. The creation of a single day celebration for all five branches of the United States military made sense due to its recent unification under the Department of Defense. Today, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of every May, this year falling on May 15. Be sure to mark your calendar and support our military! See more

Remember when the Peace Corps adopted the slogan The toughest job you’ll ever love? No offense, Peace Corps, but that adage is more appropriate for motherhood... a job that is ever-changing and frequently exasperating. Moms don’t get days off, nor do they receive handsome salaries or generous pensions. Instead, their rewards come in the form of sticky kisses, necklaces made of elbow macaroni, and the satisfaction of seeing their children grow up to be happy, healthy adults. That’s probably not adequate compensation so give Mom an extra hug on Mother’s Day, the second Sunday in May. See more

UPDATE- One of our awesome fosters introduced us to a woman whom makes cute succulents and she graciously accepted our request! We also reached out to Sam the o...wner of Baskin Robbins and she is on board as well!! We are so lucky to have this community support! Hello Friends! Tanya here with Pet Pals Rescue. I need some help and I’m hoping a couple of you reading this can help. I need two more vendors to come to our event. I was thinking maybe someone willing to make cute succulents that we could sell at the fundraiser and I would love a food vendor that has a professional kitchen that would be willing to donate some lovely desserts to help us fundraise. If they could attend the event that would be excellent but we do have enough volunteers if they can not as well. Please comment or message if you can help! Thanks so much Tanya Reyes Adoption Advisor/Foster/Volunteer 707-494-9569 Text is Best!

National Pet Parents Day on April 25 this year (the last Sunday in April) was acknowledged by Veterinary Pet Insurance as a way to celebrate responsible pet par...ents and their furry children. We agree, it’s not fair that pet parents don’t get to enjoy Mother’s- and Father’s Days but, don’t fret, there’s a whole other holiday dedicated especially to you! It’s a great day to treat your pet to a new toy, take them for a drive to the dog park, or spend the day giving them a checkup and grooming to make sure they’re healthy and happy. See more

Bake Cookies Day is on December 18, just in time for Christmas. Cookies are more than just a baked treat, with generations bonding over it. What we love best ab...out cookies is their versatility; crispy or soft and chewy, traditional shapes or special cookie-cutter designs, sugar, spices, dried fruit, chocolate, the list of options goes on. So get baking and fill your house with the aroma of warm, soft cookies baked to perfection. See more

Happy Thanksgiving to All! It has definitely been a challenging year for us as well as many others. We realized more then ever that we have such wonderful #volu...nteers, #fosters and #supporters. So we want to send out a heartfelt THANK YOU to all you who helped us navigate through the uncertainty and turmoil of this year. First, the #GreatStuffThriftStore, is the life blood and main source of income for all that we do. We want to say thank you to our #volunteers and shoppers who came back safely to the store when we were allowed to open, and donors who helped support us when we were closed while bills still had to be paid, but no money was coming in! Also a special thank you, to the management of #PetalumaVillagePremiumOutlets and our landlord Simon's Properties who were ever so helpful, supportive and patient with our challenge of running a non-profit thrift store during the uncharted territory of Shelter in Place. Little do we realize that with the pandemic would be a shortage of vet appointment availability and spay and neuter clinics. We kept bringing in animals in need in 2020, but spent a lot of the year very stressed working to find a vetting solution. We had early help by #JamesonAnimalRescueRanch and #NorthBayAnimalServices with Spay and Neuter, and we now have the perfect solution with the wonderful crew at #AnimalHosptitalofSebastopol that not only is a solution that is helping us now, but will be a helpful solution moving forward! To all our #volunteers, #fosters and #supporters who rode the roller coaster with us during this wild ride of a year. We love you all. We can not do any of this without all you, and for your support, we are eternally grateful!
