I’m sharing my post again. What if you missed? Richard Lee has been such a friend to the Mare Island Preserve. Did you know that he whipped together a tent for the bears in my Christmas Eve mini Mare Island Aglow Holiday Lighted Trail?! How sweet. How sweet. Watch here. https://www.facebook.com/142887042457848/posts/3793209690758880/?d=n Share this GoFundMe request. And, please, add your donations to those already given. Let’s show some love, friends.

Good evening my Mare Island Preserve wildlands community friends. I created this event this morning with a most touching and sincere message to you for New Years Eve. Amazing, as it all too often is on Facebook Events, it glitched away my personal invite. So, here you go, again. Nitro and I are inviting you to join us for a virtual gathering on New Years Eve at 6:30pm. We will be Facebook Live until 7pm. Let’s hang out together. Visit a bit. I’d like for us to reminisce about... what we love about the Mare Island Preserve and dream in real time about what we expect in 2021 for our our sublime and divine place of peace and inspiration. We know it has been our refuge and delight for nearly 13 years. We need to honor each other and our incredible volunteer team as we’ve struggled through a horrendous year, here. I’m certain things will change for the better. And, soon. Join me live and share our moments together. If you wish, please visit our website, sign and share our petition to return as gracious and knowledgeable managers and hosts. If you wish to contribute to our nonprofit organization, please also donate on our website, not the petition site. We receive none of those funds. So, in less than an hour, go Live with Nite and me. We wish you the very best New Year. Be safe. Be well. Be kind. Myrna and Nite. See more

For some explosive NEWS this morning, thought you’d like a revisit of one of my treasured public education events at the Mare Island Preserve. Yes, it really, truly is and will be on the Navy’s oldest Naval Ammunition Depot in the Pacific. And, yes, there really are and may remain potentially live, explosive materials in perpetuity. For the moment, watch and rewatch the WOW! Of blowing shit up. Sometimes, it’s just cool. THIS, my friends, is just one example of why our Pr...eserve is such an unique treasure worth fighting for. Pinch yourself. This took place while we were open to the public! Unforgettable!! PLEASE, sign and share our petition to return under our gentle and trusted care. And, if you will, please donate. Both on our website. Do NOT donate on the petition site. We DON’T receive any of those funds. Thank you! Go now to: www.mareislandpreserve.com See more

City Hall finally changed the sign. No other word posted. And, they destroyed our $4,000k of wayfinding signs and Preserve ID signage. But, then, who cares?! I’ll tell you who does. 7,400 of you have signed our petition online to reopen under our dare and permanently...I guess we should add. Another 1,000 signed the same petition by hand before Covid. You still can sign and share. If you really get busy and write a note to your friends about what the Preserve has meant to you and your family and friends, we’d sure appreciate you! Please donate on our website, not on the petition. We get none of that contribution. Visit www.mareislandpreserve.com sign our petition. Share. Donate. We love you!

Sacred Lands. Sacred Lands. People of the Mare Island Preserve. THIS. THIS is what I have been pleading with you to join us in support of for our beautiful and indigenous treasured land at the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve. For 12 plus years, now more than 13 years ago, AFTER serving on a Mayoral appointed 35-person Taskforce to research and write a plan to manage and fund this precious land, we took the task in of founding the Preserve and a sole purpose nonprofi...t to operate and fund it in partnership with you our Preserve Users and Lovers. Together, we created much more than a jogging trail. Sooo much more. We etched into the wildlands park, a Wildlands Community. All that together, we had established, to honor the sacred Mother Earth, was bulldozed and struck down in the year following 3 days of suspicious fires one year ago. Today, with what I pray is our shared passion and belief in ALL Nature because WE ARE NATURE, I ask you to please watch this powerful story to the end. Then, go to our website www.mareislandpreserve.com and sign and share the petition that requests our return to the gentle Do No Harm approach we have taken in managing the land. After it was wrenched from our trusted care one year ago by the Vallejo City Manager and ALL but one City Councilmember, Robert H McConnell now running for Mayor, who has NEVER BSCKED OFF FROM HIS SUPPORT OF US, we have raised 7,400 plus online petition signatures and more than 1,000 on paper. Make sure to share and sign to get us to 10,000 signatures, if we have to, to tell the new Mayor and Councilmembers, you support the Mare Island Heritage Trust and our trusted operations of this, our own sacred land. Tell them with your signature AND YOUR VOTE, that this land is OUR LAND, not to be traded to developers. When you visit www.mareislandpreserve.com please consider making a donation to keep us working to protect this land. (Please give one our website, not the petition site. They don’t give us a penny...) And, please share! See more

Everything around us IS alive and Facebook Live is a rather primitive, admittedly, way to share it...well, Live! Hope you enjoy. When it looks clipped off, tap once and it will go full screen. You will see others’ comments, too. As I mention near the end of this post, today is the 1 year anniversary of the 3 days of fires that led to the closure of our Preserve. The City Manager of the City of Vallejo maliciously closed the sacred and treasured Mare Island Preserve and kicke...d our trusted and respected nonprofit management team out. Join us to honor the one year anniversary. You are invited to gather for an evening social distancing and hanging out together under the trees of the Preserve Entrance Park. Meet anytime from 6-9pm. Bring your own chair or blanket and something for your own dinner and to drink. Bring music. We will take a short walk if you want, about a mile to get up close to the Cathedral of Light, Building 678. Call/text me with questions. 707-249-9633. Still thinking you should sign and share our petition to get back in to the Preserve under our trusted care? Want to donate directly( not through petition. We don’t get ANY of that money.) Here’s our website. www.mareislandpreserve.com

I invite to you read our latest Update on the Mare Island Preserve Chsnge.org petition. Thank you Sherri de Coronado for the inspiration. If we have any hope of turning around this hot mess bring created daily by our City Manager, Greg Nyhoff, I believe voting for and supporting Robert McConnell for Vallejo Mayor and for District 6, Council candidate Tina Arriola, District 3 Council Candidates Mina Diaz and Louis Michael will both listen to the people, and District 1, L. Alex Matias will, I am certain, as well.

Good morning from the decimated Mare Island Preserve on the 13th anniversary of our first opening weekend August 8-9, 2007. We are 7 signatures away from 7,000 on our petition to reopen it under our care. After 10 months, 8 of which we were locked out while the City of Vallejo did its dirty work, I returned yesterday. What a devastation! It seriously makes me wonder whether I should have EVER opened it. Yet, here we are! Help us turn this hot mess created by our City Manager and his staff and current Mayor and 5 of 6 Councilmembers, around. What else would YOU DO?! Visit www.mareislandpreserve.com

This weekend marks our 13th anniversary of the first weekend we opened the Mare Island Preserve to the public, August 11 & 12, 2007. It’s a bittersweet weekend. Due to COVID19 we won’t be holding our annual Mare Faire and Fennel Festival. Due to cowardly actions by the City of Vallejo’s City Manager, who, under increasing scrutiny for his apparent lack of good judgement, refused to continue to partner with the Mare Island Heritage Trust who founded and funded the Preserve through exclusively private public investment. Here’s an update on the petition nearly 6,800 individuals have signed to return it to our care and underwriting. Please note that if you sign and share the petition, none of the money you donate at the end of your signing goes to our nonprofit. If you wish to donate to us, please do so on www.mareislandpreserve.com

Two important Petitions linked for your signature and sharing. We are closing in on 7,000 signatures for this effort. Given that the City of Vallejo is facing the REAL possibility of yet another bankruptcy, it’s more urgent than ever that our proven professional Preserve management and fundraising capabilities be brought back to the wildlands we so carefully stewarded and offered to you for FREE!

Mare Island Camping 07.07.2020

We’ve reached 6,200 plus signatures on our electronic petition. Add another thousand we have on paper. What’s that sounding like to you?! The numbers we could throw towards the election of Council and Mayor candidates who value more than anything, not just a now denuded and desecrated Mare Island Preserve, but one that is managed as it has been under our care for more than a dozen years. For the explicit Enjoyment of ALL CALIFORNIANS of ALL TIMES. Past, present AND Future. Read my Update. Sign and share our petition, now. http://chng.it/wtqYqngM

Saturday, May 30, 2020 Dear Users of the Mare Island Preserve and Friends of Mare Island Heritage Trust, I have put off this note to you as long as I can and should. And, you have every reason to be worried. The Vallejo City Manager Greg Nyhoff, with the full support o...Continue reading
