It's a small win, and 'm going to give myself a little pat on the back. A moment of recognition, pride even. Let it start with that. Because all day as I work with my clients, it keeps coming back to this:... -"how do I take care of me?" -"If only I could find the time/space/energy to"... *re-start my morning routine *even contemplate intimacy with my partner *drink more water *have space to breathe deeply So start small, see how it feels, and give yourself a little credit for a step in the right direction. #postpartumhealing #physicaltherapymarin #getitdone #physicaltherapysanrafael #pregnancymarin #postpartummarin #marinmommies

Marci Silverberg, PT, MPT, CEAS, PPCES, PNFAII, What the *!!$???? Are you confused yet?? Hello Everyone. I haven’t been too active on social media, so I thought I would take a minute and introduce myself. Have you noticed the alphabet soup that comes after people’s names these days? I’m actually a minimalist when it comes to all the letters. ... At the end of the day, I am a Physical Therapist. I treat the entire body. I also have specialized training to treat the pelvic floor muscles. I work with mostly women, but have started to treat some men also. I love to put the pieces together of why people hurt or have physical issues, and I offer treatment to help clients reach their goals while avoiding costly surgery and medications. I’ve got letters I can put after my name if I wanted to, but what I tell my clients is this: The proof is in the pudding. Meaning, he/she/they should notice some changes after a few PT treatments. If not, either: -There is an underlying issue that PT can’t address, or -There is a mismatch of patient to practitioner expectations of how quickly things will heal, or -The hypothesis of the problem or plan of care needs to change. If your healthcare provider is passionate about helping you, clinically honest with you, qualified to treat your issue, and committed to lifelong learning, what difference do a bunch of letters make? Do you agree? #marinphysicaltherapy #pelvicfloormarin #physicaltherapysanrafael #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy #womenshealthphysicaltherapy

It makes my day to get these updates on clients, so thought I would share: Hi Marci, I just wanted to write and thank you for all your help in bringing G into the world!... His birth was exactly what I hoped it would be: NOT "sunny-side-up", fast (but not so fast that he was born in the parking lot!) and no complications. Prior to his birth I was using the techniques you showed me for managing all the discomfort I was having, and it kept me going! I am so grateful for all that you taught me. I believe it made all the difference in G's birth... I'm still marveling at it all. Thank you <3 With deepest appreciation, Sara (and G too :) ) Did you know that Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy during pregnancy is not only for women who have pain, but includes birth preparation as well? Reach out if you want to learn more or schedule a free consultation:) #marinphysicaltherapy #pregnancy #womenshealth #birthpreparation #marinpelvicfloor #sanrafaelphysicaltherapy #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapysanfrancisco

Repost from @pomyoga Meet @marcimpt ! Marci Silverberg is a Pelvic PT, a mom, and a past Pom client! We are thrilled that she will be facilitating our postpartum series Find Your Center in the month of May. ... Here’s a bit more about Marci: If you could describe your Pelvic PT practice in one word, what would it be? Personalized Favorite part of parenting in a pandemic? Having time with my kids that I didn’t expect. I’ve learned to fish with my son, take long nature walks with my daughter, and have become an expert camper. Least favorite part of parenting in a pandemic? Having the patience and skill set to get my second grader to focus on his schoolwork. Favorite local restaurant? Cafe Sorella in Fairfax If you could debunk one myth about pelvic physical therapy, what would it be? That Kegels are the answer to everything. Has your family added a pandemic pet into your home? No, despite daily requests. My kids will literally run on the field with the neighborhood dogs, and all the dog owners in the neighborhood know them. Favorite place to travel? We take our camping trailer out a lot, and our favorite spots are Santa Cruz and Samuel P Taylor State Park. Pet peeve? I get so irritated when my husband leaves his shoes on our bed. I also get so tired of pulling underwear out of inside out pants. What is your preferred type of exercise and how do you fit it into your busy life? I love to dance. It’s a huge energy release for me. I get up early to do it, and dance in my kitchen a lot to my kids music. I also will play with my weighted hula hoop and jump on the trampoline during the day for a little extra exercise. I travel light. But I always pack my yoga tune-up balls. I can quickly self massage whatever got tight from my long flight and other stressors- these little guys help me with my face and jaw tightness, back, hips, leg and feet. And it's SO relaxing. Have you ever used these or anything like it? #selfmassage #myofascial release #physicaltherapy #womenshealth #selfcareroutine
