Duane Stanley Austin, 93 years young, passed away in his sleep on June 8th 2020, at Eastern Plumas Health Center, Skilled Nursing Facility. William A. Weaver. He passed on a beautiful spring day in God's country. 23rd day of April 2020 in Portola, California at the age 84. Bill was the youngest of three born in Dayton, Ohio to Harry and Ramona Weaver. Bill served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force, then retired as Chief Master Sergeant. He returned to school at Sacramento State to receive his Bachelors Degree in Political Science at the age of 42. ... Not only was Bill a Son and Brother, he was a Father to Steve, (Sondi) Papu (grandfather) to Christopher and Timothy, Great grandfather to Zoe & Emilia, Uncle to Cherylann (Rick) & Debbie (Nicholas) & Robert and all their children. Also, Bill was Sharon's husband and her best friend for 27 years. Bill will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Hopefully, We will get to have services to honor William A. Weaver at a later date. Watch for notices.

Obituary for Rita Johnson Rita Johnson, surrounded by her family, passed away and went to live with her heavenly father on April 4, 2020. Rita was born on February 17, 1956 in Loyalton, California. Rita grew up in Portola and served her community in many ways. She helped co-run Project Santa Claus and Holiday Helping Hands. She served, in many ways, at Portola Assembly of God Church in Portola, where her father pastored for many years. She then became a member of Reno ...Assembly of God Church and has been their Children’s Pastor for many years. Rita worked as a Victim Witness Advocate for the Plumas County Sheriff’s Department. She was also a sign language interpreter for Plumas Unified School District. Rita is survived by her husband Dale Johnson, mother Wanda Driggers, sisters Carol Thompson & Darlene Crews. Her children Linda & Allan Cash and Sharon & Jonathan Hoover. Her grandchildren include Brittany & Wesley Tripp, Ryan & Lili Cash, Savannah Cash, Raegan Cash, Ryleigh Cash, Makayla Hoover, Angel Ani, Goeth Ani, and Godstime Ani. Rita is preceded in death by her father Reverend James Driggers. Rita loved everyone she met and was loved by many. They include her nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, Uncles, adopted kids, adopted grandkids, and many friends. Due to Covid-19 Rita will have a service online. Information will be posted on her facebook page. There also will be a church service at Reno Assembly of God in Rita’s memory once Covid-19 is over.
