Thank you to everyone who came by Friday to keep the Manila Community Resource Center’s Winter Celebration tradition going with creative and safe workarounds! Santa got to see about 60 kids and even quite a few adults got their picture with Santa, too. Fun afternoon, everyone left with a bag of crafts, some tasty food and a 2020 Picture with Santa. We were also excited to partner with Arcata House Partnership once again to deliver 50 hot holiday meals to folks on the peninsula. Stay safe out there.... Happy Holidays!!!

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 22nd, is our final 2020 Activity Kit pick-up. Come by between 10:00 and 12:00. We will be outside, socially distanced. Please help remin...d your children to leave space too. One of the vault murals was vandalized a few days ago but the PCC was able to go out yesterday and remove it! All the vault murals were coated with a protective... coat that makes graffiti easier to remove without harming the mural. The PCC will go out one more time to thoroughly remove the spray paint stains. Please let us know if you ever see one of the vault murals with graffiti on it! See more

Nearly 250 people from around Humboldt County received flu vaccines on Wednesday, Nov. 18, during DHHS’s free drive-thru vaccine clinic in the parking lot of th...e library’s main branch in Eureka. The event was staffed by Public Health Nurses, Medical Office Assistants and community volunteers. And we are so grateful to Arcata House Partnership for allowing us to participate in your community meal so that we could give 50 local folks a delicious hot Thanksgiving dinner! ... Here are some subtle and helpful thoughts behind this kit: Doing work now can mean exciting benefits later. It can be hard to be patient! It takes time for things to grow but watching and noticing is fun. Remember you will also get to: Check in with Marie from Manila Family Resource Center, sign up for the diaper program or check about food or other needs. Visit with Amber, our HSU intern. She will have another helpful flier for you. This one is focused on being patient. Pick up a school lunch for your 0-18 year old child(run). All basic Covid safety protocols must be followed.
