Dear Industry Friends and Colleagues In the wake of the crisis unfolding across our nation, we have decided to postpone Episode 2 of the Next Generation in Lodging webinar series. It is our collective belief that we must show solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters who are protesting for their fundamental human right to being treated equally. Our collective hope is the peaceful elements of this protest can affect societal change to America’s systemic racial issues. ... Our team has decided to stream a 2-part special about the plight of minorities in the hospitality industry. It is important to us on a personal level, as members of the Black, Latino, and LGBTQ communities, to provide a voice for those oppressed for being themselves. Part 1: Inclusion is a Unicorn will foster an open discussion about the industry’s historical and current shortfalls in minority relations. Part 2: We Are One will focus on how hospitality companies intend to address minorities’ concerns about workplace integration and lack of opportunity. We hope both workers and employers will join us for these open-minded discussions. The schedule is as follows: - Part 1: Inclusion is a Unicorn Friday, June 5th at 2:00 PM (EDT) - Part 2: We Are One Friday, June 12th at 2:00 PM (EDT) Much love to all, Davonne, Omari, and Chris The initially planned Next Generation in Lodging Episode 2: Asset Management will be postponed to Tuesday, June 16th, at 4:00 PM (EDT).

As CEO of Majestic Hospitality Group, I am excited and pleased to announce the digital publication of "Wanderings in Central America: Cros, Pyramids, and Super Glue". This autobiography by Majestic team member, Dr. Paddy Ryan, follows the epic 2011 south of the border adventure he undertook with Dave Herrick, Ruth Cherry G, and I (Chris Henry). It is a fascinating read for couch traveler but also an incredibly insightful guide for those of you who are interested in exploring ...the back country of Central America, this is the book for you. Our trip was the happiest time of my life and I am so excited that all of you can now join in on the adventure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanderings in Central America is the story of an 8 week, 10,600 mile drive from Denver, Colorado to Costa Rica and back by Paddy Ryan, a crazy biologist/photographer. Along the way he dives in Belize, visits pyramids in Mexico and Guatemala, volcanoes in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, discovers a new species of snake and is stung by a bullet ant, along with other cool encounters. This is also a love story, a love story about the planet and a love story about his parents and his partner. Meet crocodiles, poison dart frogs, fascinating people and culture. Read about the stresses of border crossings, World Heritage cities, and getting up close and personal with plants and animals. This rollicking story contains over 300 full color photos, links to over 30 minutes of high definition video and external links to places Paddy visited or stayed. There are additional sections about photography, border crossings and vehicle preparation. This book is a must for anyone interested in travel to Central America and will be a worthy addition to any photographer or biologist's collection. See more
