Uptima Business Bootcamp has launched a new Worker Cooperative Fellowship, designed to provide founding teams of entrepreneurs of color with the support and resources to develop worker cooperative businesses in their communities. There is a rich history of cooperative models in communities of color, especially Black communities, as a means for economic survival and cultivating resilience. And with the recent impact of COVID-19, there is a greater need for entrepreneurs of col...or to advance cooperative models as a way to address the failures in our economic system. Worker Cooperative Fellows receive a full scholarship to their year-long program. This program includes rigorous education and mentorship to accelerate each fellowship team’s worker cooperative business model and impact. Fellowship teams also receive a $2,500 stipend toward legal fees for establishing or converting the business to a worker cooperative. This opportunity is available to entrepreneurs of color in Oakland/East Bay and San Francisco. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 21st. Prospective Fellowship teams can apply via this link:
