From Roger Cundall... August 14th, witnessed kadavu boat wailana, capture its first 200# dogtooth tuna. Skilled angler Bob Michener brought the giant to gaff. What makes the feat more amazing is that it was caught on a relatively small reel, an Accurate boss 30N with 80 pound backing and 60 pound top shot. The monster inhaled a butterfly jig on the retrieve.... The initial run stripped all the line but 20 feet. Fight time was about 40 minutes. The fish would be a world record on 60#. Mike Muskita with two BFT. One at 160# plus and another at 150# on the Thunderbird yesterday. He caught both on 80# test line.
