Magnolia School District 19.02.2021

As part of a partnership with the Lang Lang International Music Foundation and in an effort to provide music education to all children during a tremendously unique school year, ten Juliette Low School of the Arts piano students in grades 3-5 have been awarded their very own keyboard and piano method books to continue at home practice. Students were selected at the beginning of 2020-2021 based on the foundations’ criteria: dedication to learning and growing in piano studies, a high attendance rate, and academic excellence. As a school partner, the foundation will provide these scholarships to deserving students who are studying piano each year. Congratulations to this year’s Keys of Inspiration scholarship recipients!

Seven Magnolia School District sites were named 2019-20 Honor Roll Schools by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP)! After an extensive analysis of student data for every public school in California, it was determined that the following schools have demonstrated high levels of student achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps: Walt Disney Elementary, Dr. Peter Marshall Elementary, Juliette Low School of the Arts, Robert M. Pyles STEM Academy, Dr. Jonas E. Salk Elementary, Dr. Albert Schweitzer Elementary, and Esther L. Walter Elementary. These schools will be featured as leaders in student achievement on ERP’s website, which may be accessed at dataportal.edresults.org.

On behalf of the Magnolia School District, Dr. Frank Donavan thanked Orange County 4th District Supervisor, Doug Chaffee for his generous support. During this challenging time we are doing everything we can to make sure our students have what they need to access their education via a virtual format. Thanks to Mr. Chaffee, we will be able to ensure that every one of our students have their own Chromebook, wifi hotspot and Internet connectivity. With nearly 6,000 students in our district this is no easy task. We greatly appreciate your leadership and assistance.
