THE GREATEST MUSIC STORE EVER! An easy walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame will take you to the worlds' greatest music store....Amoeba. This Los Angeles institution just opened their doors to their brand new location. They have the greatest selection of new and used vinyl, CDs, movies, books, and sometimes live performances. This is a hotel favorite and our advice is to plan on spending a lot of time getting lost in the sea of music. They're known for their great prices ...and massive variety. Great news for Californians! Universal Studios Hollywood officially opens April 16th for residents of California. Magic Castle Hotel is only one stop on the Metro (subway) from the Hollywood/Highland station. If you prefer to drive, it'll only take you 5 minutes! Thank you so much to Alison Martino and Vintage Los Angeles for highlighting out hotel and telling the story of what The Magic Castle Hotel did during its one year closure. It had to be kept quiet at the time. We're happy to again be open to the public, and are proud of the important 10-month program we took on to help our community.

Final Deer Update: The deer is safe! A bridge was made and the deer left on its own. A very happy ending!

Deer Update... Animal Control came...then left to get another truck and more guys. He called a little while ago and said he needs six men and will be back in the morning. They have to basically build a bridge. Stay tuned!!

OH DEER! Thanks to our postman for letting us know that we had a deer on the roof of the small apartment building next to the hotel (same property). The poor thing is stuck. It was able to jump from the Magic Castle Club's upper parking lot onto the roof.....but either doesn't have the confidence or the strength, to jump over the gap between the building and the parking lot. Animal Control came, but they have to bring another truck, and more people. We'll keep you pos...ted!!! Thank you to the Magic Castle Club for trying to throw it some food...we're hoping it will eat it.

Thank you to our friend, Alison Martino, for finding this fun L.A. Magazine article from a few years ago. It highlights Los Angeles restaurants in 1971 and the celebrities who went there. It has some fun insights about some classic Hollywood Celebs! It was fun to read about Orson Welles, who was a huge fan of the Magic Castle Club and had ties to the founders and their current president. Alison founded and curates the Facebook Page "Vintage Los Angeles" which we highly recommend if you're at all interested in the history and efforts to preserve the landscape of Los Angeles.
