For an eligible self-employed individual who is unable to work or telework because the individual: Is subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19; Has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19; or Is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and seeking a medical diagnosis.... For an eligible self-employed individual who is unable to work or telework because the individual: Is caring for an individual who is subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19, or has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19; Is caring for a child if the child’s school or place of care has been closed, or child care provider is unavailable due to COVID-19 precautions; or Is experiencing any other substantially similar condition specified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services in consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Labor.

Eligible self-employed individuals are entitled to claim qualified sick and family leave equivalent credits. To be an eligible self-employed person, both the following must be true. 1. You regularly carried on a trade or business within the meaning of section 1402. 2. You would have been: ... a. Eligible to receive qualified sick leave wages under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act if you had been an employee of an employer (other than yourself), and/or b. Eligible to receive qualified family leave wages under the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act if you had been an employee of an employer (other than yourself). Each eligible self-employed individual must file a separate Form 7202. If filing a joint tax return and both spouses are eligible self-employed individuals, each must attach a separate Form 7202 to the joint tax return.
