You may have seen this science experiment trending on TikTok! Give it a try and let’s Tik Talk about the science behind this TikTok!
Did you know that for many turtle species a hatchling’s gender is determined by the temperature of its nest? Some turtle species have male hatchlings from eggs incubated at lower temperatures, while others have females hatching from eggs incubated at the temperature extremes in the nest. Just one of many things that make turtles so amazing that we celebrate them on #WorldTurtleDay!
Get your math on this year and chart how fast the children in your life are growing each season.
Museums do a fantastic job of providing educational experiences for children, whether on site or online. We celebrate museums on this #InternationalMuseumDay! For some excellent science learning resources, visit a museum online today, such as the Museum of Natural Sciences in Brussels, at this link https://artsandculture.google.com//royal-belgian-institute
For a delicious way to explore science, try making homemade ice cream. This activity will help you get started! Have you ever wondered why salt is used to make ice cream? Adding salt to the ice packed around the ice cream mixture lowers its freezing point, which helps the mixture freeze and turn into what we all know and love as ice cream!
Biking is great for sight-seeing, fresh air and exercise. It is also incredibly energy efficient!
Water can be a gas, a liquid, and a solid all at the same time! A triple point may sound like something that happens at a sporting event, but it’s actually a scientific phenomenon. It’s the point at which a substance, like water, occurs in all its phases. It only happens under very specific conditions. Do you think it can occur in nature or only in the lab? Let us know in the comments! #liquid #gas #solid #h2o #waterwatereverywhere... #whatdoyouknowabouth2o See more

Did you know that your regular, everyday tonic water glows in the dark under a black light? It’s true! This is because it contains a fluorescent compound called quinine, which comes from the bark of the Cinchona tree and gives the beverage its signature bitter flavor. Fact: It’s also used to treat malaria! Check out our Glow in the Dark OOBELEK Experiment in our highlights, we use TONIC water to make it GLOW!
Your goldfish might look pretty common swimming around in its bowl, but it has a super power that no other animal possesses! To date, goldfish are the only animals that can see both infrared and ultraviolet light! This means that, in some respects, they have better vision than humans!
