Team Madrid gearing up for murder trial. Team Madrid hosted a focus group/mock trial. Case is presented to members of the community who play the role of jurors. The group renders their opinions on facts presented to them, evaluate and opine on both the prosecution and defense’s case and provide insights & perspectives on the overall case, which assists the lawyers in their final preparation for trial. Thank you Mark Rosenfeld and John Murray for your assistance.

A HEARTFELT GIFT OF APPRECIATION! Throughout my 42 years of practicing law, I have received many gifts and compliments that come in different shapes and forms like a thank you, a hug, a handshake, gift cards, flowers, candies, fruit baskets, movie tickets, NFR gold buckle seats, team roping ropes and sometimes just a simple but a very much appreciated phone call thanking us for our services. This morning I received this beautiful and wonderful saddle with a CSI saddle pad from some very dear friends, Gus, Blanca, Gus Jr. and Jake. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and wonderful gift. My rope horse Sicario will be styling and profiling!!

"Looking For Love in All The Wrong Places!" Client was arrested as a result of a police prostitution sting operation. Client went online to a dating ad that depicted a 22 year-old blonde woman named Porsha (undercover officer). He contacted her by text, negotiated a price and set up a date. Porsha then messaged client that she was 17 years old. Client asked Porsha to text him her picture. Porsha texted a picture of an adult woman. Client then met Porsha at a design...ated hotel. Porsha, a woman in her mid-thirties, answered the door and led client into the room. Once client was inside the room, client was arrested. Client was arrested and charged with two felony counts of soliciting sex with a minor, which carry a penalty of state prison time and require a person to register as a sex offender for life pursuant to Penal Code 290. Client would have faced deportation as well. Client retained the Madrid Law Firm. The MLF went on the attack. After a vigorous cross-examination of the lead officer at the preliminary hearing, the judge dismissed one of the felony counts and was on the fence on the second. The MLF then filed a Motion to Dismiss (Penal Code 995 Motion) the second felony count and set the matter for trial. On the eve of trial, the DA offered a misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution charge, and agreed to dismiss the remaining felony count, which was the crime that should have been charged originally. It takes experienced, vigorous and relentless representation to prevent a travesty of justice and obtain a favorable result for a client. Here, at the Madrid Law Firm, our continuing results speak for themselves. See more

BUYING A HORSE TRAILER? CAVEAT EMPTOR-LET THE BUYER BEWARE! Client purchased a Living Quarters Horse Trailer from Dealer. At the time of purchase, Dealer told client that trailer had been consigned by owner and Dealer was authorized to sell the trailer at a certain price. Client paid the full purchase price and made check payable to Dealer. Dealer promised to have his Certificate of Title [Pink Slip] within 60 days. After one and half years (1 years) of self-serving and b...lame-shifting excuses, Dealer shifted gears and refused to answer or return client’s telephone calls. After much frustration from having received the run-a-round for 1 years and being shunned by the Dealer, Client called in the cavalry [Madrid Law Firm]. MLF ascertained that Dealer never paid off owner for the trailer, the owner of the trailer was never notified that trailer had been sold and the purchase price to Client was less than what the owner had authorized. Dealer’s unscrupulous conduct and tactics were expeditiously met with a lawsuit. Once the lawsuit was filed and served, Client received his Pink Slip. Client will now be able to register his trailer and live the dream. [Caveat Emptor is Latin for Let the Buyer Beware. It means that a customer should be cautious and alert to the possibility of being cheated.] See more
