Made Lumber Supply

This was a fun project that I worked on for a close friend and talented landscape architect @grainlandarch He and i share an appreciation for plants, architecture, modernism and the ocean. When he came to me for a new coffee table I was pumped, when you are on the same wave length with someone things always come together fun in the end. I’m calling this one the Grain Table, named after his company. Thx my friend.

Form table 004 ... the top is from a claro walnut root section and base stacked chunks of mixed walnut. This was a fun project we did for the talented @studiosurface and resides in my home town of Del Mar. @zach_barron

I unfortunatley lost my dad last night. He was always one of biggest supporter of made lumber since day one. My dad had his own business and always pushed me to do the same and when I came up with the idea to start this he was on my side. If i had question and or issues he had answers, when things were slow in the beginning he said don’t worry, they will come. I was never the studious child, more artsy fartsy, spacey and abstract and he was the opposite. You would think a p...arent would try and mold there child to be like them and he never did. When i tried college and failed he told me to read a book called poor dad, rich dad .... which basically summarizes that school isn’t always the answer, figure out a niche and run with it. Without his support along with everyone else’s this business would never be were it is today. I love you dad and want you to know that made lumber is an ode to you and all the love you showed me the last 39 years. See more
