We offer custom bicycle sidecars for a variety of bikes. Here is a fiberglass one paired with a @bluejaybikes electric bike! Super stylish and yet very practical. The sidecars are designed for kids and dogs up to 100 lbs. They can easily be removed from the bike using a quick release pin in about 10 seconds, and weigh about 23 lbs. you can choose one or two child seatbelts and/or a pet harness attachment. The patented frame and bracket system allow the sidecar to stay grounde...d when taking corners. We are just sad... sad because our special little seaside village has lost two of it’s dearest residents this last week, two people that we adored. It’s just heartbreaking. First Gaston, the owner of our favorite local restaurant La Bicyclette, who was also a former band member of The Sandals, who wrote the music for the iconic surf movie The Endless Summer, and now Barbara Livingston, our champion resident that protected and defended the preservation of our beautiful and iconic trees and special architecture. These two individuals did so much to contribute to the beauty and character of Carmel. They were the best of the best, and the town will not be the same without them. Super important!! Some ebike haters are trying to ban ebikes from sharing the trails on Mount Tam. Please email [email protected] before 3pm today to show your support for ebikes and ebike riders. The trails should be open to all cyclists, or none at all. This is just discrimination based on a few elitist riders that don’t want to share the trails. Mount Tam is considered the birthplace of mountain biking by many, and we have a shop in Mill Valley at the base at th...e @millvalleylumberyard. In addition to selling and servicing bikes for the local community, we also rent Specialized Turbo Levo bikes that allow riders of ALL abilities to bike to the top of the Mountain on a fire road (a fire road that was built to take tourists to the top of the mountain by train). We have families, husbands and wifes, riders with physical disabilities, elderly riders, singles and corporate team building groups do this ride together, everyone loves the experience. It’s magical. Many riders have purchased ebikes, converting or upgrading from traditional bikes like the Stumpjumper to a Turbo Levo, making a major financial investment in the form of mobility that best suits their needs. Specialized makes bikes for riders, by riders. They have been making ebikes for 10 years. The Federal government opened up Federal Parklands to ebikes last year. These bikes give you extra support when needed to tackle the steeper climbs, they level the playing field for riders of all levels of ability. We have extended an invitation to all board members to enjoy a complimentary group ride up Mount Tam on the Levo before making a decision. You should not be able to vote on something that you have no first hand knowledge of. If you want a seat at the table, and you want to voice your opinions, you should of atleast ridden one. The last two pics show an electric mountain bike vs a non electric. There is minimal difference. There is no merit behind this push to ban ebikes. Don’t forget that we have seen this before... when suspension on mountain bikes launched there was major pushback from the ‘purists’ riders that also felt it was cheating. Bikes are evolving... join the evolution!
