Just some sneaky pics from our upcoming FINAL SHOW happening at the Vintage Market at Prospector’s Nursery. We’ve finally gotten all our after the COVID onslaught. We’re closin’ up shop and headed to our family farm in Kansas!! This is great news for you as we will have LOTS of stuff to go through. Newly created salvaged pieces, used pieces, project pieces, pieces that just didn’t happen and LOTS of parts!! I’ll be posting more pics over the next few days leading up ...to the event. Very customized piece for a special client. She named this potting bench Garden Song, and she is certainly a beauty!! As usual, constructed from reclaimed redwood - all sealed. This O’Keefe Merritt vintage stove was in pretty rough condition when we pulled it out of a preschool play yard/sandbox. Soooo much sand!! Yet the enamel coating and doors were in pretty good shape. We loaded it on the trailer hoping the ride home would blow much of the sand and yuck out of it. Soooo much cleaning had to happen before the fun could begin! Because the oven itself was irreparable, we gutted it, took off the cooktop, replaced it with a beautiful reclaimed l...umber top, lined the left compartment with wood and added a wood shelf in the upper right compartment. The lower right compartment is a slide-out drawer. The quirky top light has been restored and is functional. We even managed to find a set of OM shakers that fit on the top tray. The stove had a clock that also set on top, but not only was the clock broken, the mounting bracket was missing and sadly, we were unable to restore that element. It’s Father’s Day and the Hankins family bought themselves a HUGE gift that will last for many years to come! That outdoor kitchen was created using appliances from a 1965 Ford camper. All appliances are operational and it is plumbed and ready for water hook-up!! I see LOTS of fun family meals and memories happening around this sweet outdoor kitchen! Another COVID disruption. The spring ‘20 Roses & Rust Vintage Market was postponed to mid-July and now that event has been cancelled. So disappointing, but it joins a long list of mass gathering events that have been cancelled. We are hopeful that the fall event which occurs the first weekend in November will go on. Whether Mad Hatter Salvage will be there or not remains to be seen. This is truly an amazing event and we are praying that the traditional fall event will go on as it has for the past 10 years.
