This never gets old ... especially that lone oak standing tall on top of the hill! Very slowly the vineyard will go to sleep for winter - enjoying the beauty and vigor until then #willowcreekava #pasorobleswinecountry #vineyardsofpaso

The search for the best Cabernet Franc fruit on the entire Central Coast for the LXV #reservecabernetfranc led us to this hidden gem - #porticohillsvineyard in Los Alamos Video by LxV team member Mélanie Negri It has two very distinctive soil profiles. The hillside of about seventy acres has limestone. It's a sandy soil, but you can see the limestone in it. The wind is not a direct shot from the coast. It comes through the Los Alamos Valley and Vandenberg. At noon or one o'clock the vineyard starts to get an ocean breeze. They also have fog every morning. The temperature difference between night and day is dramatic allowing the maintenance of really high acidity at Portico Hills.

Harvest Vineyards visit: #WhiteHawkVineyard in Santa Ynez. Pictures by LXV team member Mélanie Negri White Hawk Vineyard is planted at an elevation of almost 9...00 feet on ancient pure sand dunes, immediately draining off water and nutrients which forces the vines to work extra-hard to survive. The vineyard sits on the southern facing slope of Cat Canyon some 21 miles from the Pacific and 2 miles north of Los Alamos. The marine influence causes early morning fog that envelopes the site before giving way to bright, warm sun. White Hawk is custom-farmed using sustainable and primarily organic viticulture methods. The yields here are miniscule and the berries intense and slow to ripen.
