The Benefits of Meal Prepping Hey ya! Coach Lu here! Today, I wanted to chat with you about the benefits of meal prepping. I'm even gonna take it a step further and layout my easy meal prepping process and strategies that I use for myself, and that I teach to my clients and challengers. I feel it’s safe to say that most of us are pretty busy movers and shakers. Time is valuable and wasting time is not in the cards for us! ... Maybe on the other hand, due to the current stresses of the world and many of us working from home, you may find yourself snacking, stress eating or using food as a procrastination tool. Whatever your reason, meal prepping can always be beneficial. 1. You will save time! It’s all prepped and ready to go! Yes it takes some time to get it ready and prepped but the pay-off is much greater! 2. It saves you money! Not only will you be saving all of your dinero eating out, the quality will be much better because you’re making it yourself! 3. Portion control! When you prep out your meals, you have more control of how much is being portioned. 4. You know what's in it! No surprise and hidden sugar, msg or trans fats. You’re able to read labels and apply your healthy standards. 5. You can inspire others! Process and Strategies for an Awesome Meal Prep Session Process 1. Schedule your prep days and time. I suggest 2 or 3 times per week for just 1 hour. It keeps for fresher food and adds variety. The more you prep and dive into the process, the easier it becomes. You will find what works for you. 2. Grab your nutrition plan or whatever guidelines and recipes you will be using. 3. Plan out when you’re gonna prep and how much. For example: 3 meals/day x 2 days = 6 meals total; 3 meals/day x 3 days = 9 meals. 4. Grab your groceries. 5. Cook! Spice! Make the magic happen. 6. Portion everything out in quick to-go containers.
