Happy Valentine's Day! There's been reports of surprise frisking in New York, and not the good kind!

Did you know there is no federal law enforcing minimum paid vacation? In France it's 30 days!

The update on Prop 8:

If you earn over $30 in tips at your job per month, your employer can use those to pay you less than minimum wage. Under federal law, with enough tips, you can be paid as little as $2.13 per hour!

Who can't get overtime pay? Outside salespeople, independent contractors, transportation workers, movie theater employees, farmers (be aware when choosing a new job)

In CA, overtime pay incurs when working over 8 hrs/day, not just for working over 40 hrs/week (like in most states). Don't get shorted!

"Living Wage" laws in certain cities and counties increase local minimum wages: in SF it's $9.79 (as of 2011)

Did you know CA has the 8th highest Minimum Wage at $8.00/hr? Washington is the highest with $9.19! http://1.usa.gov/7CCbm7

CA 3-Strikes Law applied unevenly around the state, (eg: 25 year sentence for pizza thief)
