Happy Monday SLO! To kick off the week, we are excited to introduce another one of our amazing educators, Chris, who always brings a great sense of humor to work. Chris' favorite way to get moving is by doing any ocean sport, whether it be surfing or freediving. His favorite mindful practice is freediving as it helps keeps his thoughts clear. A person who inspires Chris is his mother. Chris said that "She’s got so much grit and doesn’t complain about anything she just fixe...s it or accepts that it’s out of her hands. I really appreciate that about her." Something Chris loves about working at Lululemon is that he finds it a valuable place to develop himself as a person, a worker, and a leader. Chris shared that "Just by showing up to work I’m given the tools I need for success as well the tools necessary to bounce back from a missed opportunity." His favorite product is the Switch Up Shorts because "shorts are meant to be short, and these things stretch in any direction, look cool, and feel good." Human connection matters now more than ever, which is why we want you all to feel connected to our team. Today, we are excited to introduce Tulsi to y'all, one of our amazing store educators. Tulsi is from Santa Maria, CA, and graduated from UCLA last year. A fun fact about her is that she is a triplet!... When asked about what inspires her, Tulsi stated that she is constantly drawing inspiration from new sources. She has also been obsessed with Paula Findlay, of That Triathlon Life, because her drive and dedication to her sport is unmatched. Her favorite way to sweat is anything high intensity, whether it be running, circuit training, or cycling. When working out, her go to Lululemon outfit is the Wunder Train leggings paired with the Aries Bra. Tulsi's favorite part about working at Lululemon is the team! She said that everyday, she gets to go to work and be surrounded by friends who want to see her grow. Tulsi loves how it never feels like a day at work. Last week wrapped up the Move + Stay Connected Challenge, and here’s how it went down: -295,000 total Guests participated, making this lululemon’s largest virtual challenge ever! -5.6M activities were recorded totaling an elapsed time equal to 1,100 years. -18.5M km’s were run equaling 454 times around the globe.... -49M km’s were cycled IRL equaling the distance of 40 trips to the moon and back (cycling made up 26% of the total activities recorded). -11 years of yoga was practiced with an average practice duration of 42 minutes. Community and connection are at the core of who we are. Given the current global environment, we have shifted away from hosting physical and in-person experiences for community campaigns, and have been discovering new ways to stay connected through the power of our community.

What are you grateful for? Today I am grateful for the beautiful place I live here on the coast. Initially, being set into shelter at home was difficult. I have redirected my days into seeing an accomplishment somewhere, even in the smallest place.... What is your favorite way to sweat right now? Yoga in the living room with the fur babies has been quite entertaining. I need a second mat for them since they wedge into my space. What are you learning during this time? I am learning to be still. Enjoy quiet moments. This has always been a challenge for me as I love to be in constant motion. What local/small businesses are you supporting? Sally Loo's Wholesome Cafe, Hands Gallery, Talley Farms Fresh Harvest and many others. This has been big for me. If I am not buying gift cards for give-away, I am supporting in discrete ways. Giving to others gives me a huge amount of happiness. *To our guests: I love and miss all of you! I can’t wait to see each of you back in our store in the future. Be well!

My favorite quarantine-approved way to sweat is with a pair of dumbbells and following a CompTrain workout in my backyard!... What new skill are you learning *and/or* what old skill are you refining? I’m working on refining my entrepreneurial skills by taking some awesome online courses! What are you grateful for today? I’m grateful that I have a healthy body right now and I’m grateful for the gift of movement!

We checked in with SLO Educator Aliza Golan to see what she's been up to the past few weeks: What are you grateful for today? Today, and every day, I am grateful for... being part of this collectively shared experience (the good, the bad, the frustrating and the illuminating..., etc).... What's your (quarantine approved) favorite way to sweat? Taking my 2 wiener dogs out to enjoy our neighborhood hikes which allows us to admire the beauty of springtime in SLO. And, I started running again! What local/small business are you supporting? I am active with SLO county's Master Gardeners program. I coordinate the harvests in our Demonstration Garden and donate the fresh produce to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County. We have incorporated the new CDC safety guidelines into our process so we can continue to harvest and deliver fresh produce. Last year, the SLO Master Gardeners donated over 1,100 lbs of fresh produce to be shared with those in need in our local community. If anyone in our community has a fruit tree or a garden with extra produce, please considering donating to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County. They are located at 1180 Kendall Rd.
