We can always dream of a white Christmas.., California Winters are very unpredictable, Monday painting snowmen in 80’s while today it’s a chilly 54(I know still not cold) and raining. But loving the cooler weather makes it feel a bit more like Christmas. What’s your Christmas weather forecast?

What’s your favorite holiday tradition? Sunday we made all our favorite holiday sweets. Everyone picks a favorite to make so we have a variety. This was one of the kids advent activities. It is always so much fun teaching my (adult) kids new recipes, and creating family traditions. ... A bonus was Miss Molly Gwen the youngest Bolton/Gossett coming over for a visit... she fell in love with the kids new Trader Joe’s wooden spoons from their advent calendar.

Who’s your favorite country singer? First time we visited Nashville we went to the Grand Ole Oprey to watch the classic Oprey radio show. So this go around we decided to go to the Ryman, and take in some history. It was crazy to walk through the venue and think about all of the talent that has passed through over the years. They had tons of past performers outfits and relics to view too!... If your ever in Nashville it’s a great break from the bars on Broadway, lol! The night we got there, Clint Black was performing but we were worried about possible flight delays... but that would have been an awesome concert. You can always check future shoes online before visiting. The girls got to go upstage for a cool picture. See more

Vodka, Gin, Whiskey or Moonshine.... which would you choose? We had a tasting tour of the beautiful facility planned, but it was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid. We made the best of it and just did a tasting. And we tried them all, plus a couple barrel aged extras and some boozey hot chocolates... yes I said boozed up flavored hot chocolate! YUM! My favorite was the barrel aged Gin! I’m usually a Whiskey girl and it was definitely good but the Gin had a flavor t...hat I’ve never tasted before. Do you ever look at your life and say WOW, we did it! We raised 3 amazing kids, held our marriage together AND we are still happy. We all have so much to be thankful for even through all the crap 2020 has thrown at us... Okay, so I’m not a huge fried chicken fan but I do love spicy food, but I’m also not a whole chicken kinda girl either... usually when cooking chicken at home we are grilling thighs. What’s your favorite kind of chicken ? While on our trip to Nashville I got a recommendation from a friend to check out @partyfowl and WOW doesn’t explain how delicious our food was! ... SWIPE to see Brians rotisserie chicken, I went with Fried, when in Rome Our party of 8 tried a tone of items on the menu, just to name a few... Pimento cheese dip with bacon relish on soda crackers (), the Wedge Salad, the Chicken Sandwich, Gluten Free Chicken Breast, ChickenTenders, Rotisserie Chicken and of corse the classic Chicken Breast over mashed potatoes (I got the gravy on the side, do I could get the true taste). Now they have 5 levels of heat and I love HOT, so I was gonna go the second from the hottest but luckily the waiter talked me down to middle because it was SPICY but the flavor was over the top! My Dad went with the 2nd (which included habanero heat) and enjoyed it. We give this spot and our server was awesome, he knew everything about the menu and was very helpful... even gave me a few secrets on the relish and white gravy (which is not really gravy more of a dip) which I’m gonna make for our prime rib for Christmas. If your ever in Nashville or anywhere else that has a local Party Fowl restaurant, GO... you won’t be disappointed! See more

What an amazing Nashville Trip! Today was our travel day home, and tomorrow I’m sure we will have the vacation blues... but until then we will be reminiscing through our photos reliving all of the good times that are now just memories. My Maddy Jo had a 21st Birthday to remember that’s for sure! Do you remember where you celebrated your 21st?... I had a 5 day vacation with my parents, 2 cousins and a couple friends. Brian my hubby and I had just started dating a few months before so he was there too. We spent a couple days in Vegas at the New York, New York Hotel (it had just opened) and then we headed to the River for a couple days. Still to this day one of my most favorite and memorable trips! I wish I could find the picture to share I know it’s somewhere in my memory box. I am glad Maddy will also have an awesome trip to always remember her 21st Birthday! See more

This city might just be my favorite city... this is our third trip here and we already have another trip planned next fall. The combination of things that this city has to offer is so vast. The food is amazing, the music is everywhere and so good, the people are polite, and the drinks are well... seriously it’s the home of Whiskey soooo need I say more! Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Probably my favorite holiday except for the past couple years... because the girls haven’t been home but we make the best of it and usually FaceTime. 10 days and counting... until I get to squeeze these two! I am so grateful we raised them to be adventurous, strong and independent. They are rocking the college life with tenacity through Covid. I’m very proud of both of them and thankful that they have each other out in Illinois. But right now this Momma misses her girls. It’s been over 100 days since I’ve been able to give them a hug, smooch their check, snuggle on the couch, or have a meal with them and I can’t wait! Cheers to amazing unforgettable vacations with friends and family! Where is your favorite Steakhouse? Tag them below and give them a shout out! When we were traveling across the country one of our stops was in Omaha, Nebraska. So being that Omaha is known for cattle ranches and steaks I researched a good place for us to grab a steak. And because I love whiskey this restaurant stuck out... The Drover Restaurant and Lounge, known for their whiskey soaked steaks. ... And let me just say, WOW! What a delicious steak that was cooked perfectly, with great simple sides and strong cocktails. I just want to see blue skies and smell the fresh air again... Yesterday we came back from northern Arizona where the weather was cool and clear, I miss it! Whatcha got cooking during this dang quarantine? Here’s one of my favorite quarantine meals, even before being stuck at home we would make these delicious @Traegar smoked pork chops about once a week. We are a family that cooks at home most nights of the week but I am starting to really miss going out once in a while. We ordered pizza the other night which was a nice break but to head out to a restaurant would be awesome!... Once all this rain stops I’m headed to the backyard to get the garden started. We haven’t done one in a few years and thought we should do a small one this year. We do have our Artichokes that are perennial plants, and I did break off two shoots in the fall to see if I could gain additional plants and so far so good. So here in CA we got the call from our school superintendent yesterday stating that schools will be closed for the remainder of this school year. And my senior son called me, this sucks mom, everything is done and for him this is his whole world. Trying to explain to a 17 year old that things could be way worse is so difficult. Those last few months of your senior year that include all the rights of passage before adulthood begins... senior ditch day, prom, AP Tests, Grad ...night, senior sunset, not to mention graduation, all gone! I know there are others that follow me that have Seniors in high school that could benefit from support so I added a link to group for parents of 2020 Seniors (parents from all over the country are part of this group) in my FB group or you can DM me for link. I already added a few of you but feel free to join so you can see what other parents are doing to celebrate their senior and deal with the stress that these soon to be adults, are being forced to deal with before they were supposed to have to. I know this is not the end of the world, but please SHARE your ideas of how to help these kids who have worked so hard feel like their senior year fun hasn’t disappeared. @ Los Osos High School

Happy St. Patrick’s Day What luck have you come across today? I know it doesn’t seem like there is much to feel lucky for this past week but continue look at the bright side and relish in the little things... It might have cost me extra, and it’s been a long 2 days but my girls are home.... We all may be stuck at home but that means we can have quality family time. We have food, we might have to get creative with meals but that can be fun! School has been halted but a different way of learning is good for kids and young adults, it teaches them to adapt to unforeseen situations. Stores are out of tons of stuff but we are all neighbors and can be kind and sharing. I’ve seen the sharing already begin, barter my friends just like we used to. We have put off so many projects but now we are forced to slow down and get some stuff done.
